More Socks

My knitting was put on the back burner for a bit whilst I taught myself how to crochet, but once I picked it up again I realised how much I'd missed it.

It didn't take me long to finish these socks which I started back in March. These are for my dad for Christmas. I know I'm starting early but there's a few presents which I want to make this year and as I'm not the quickest knitter in the world, I don't want to be at the last minute.

These were made with Regia World Circus Color which I've really enjoyed using. The colour is great for my Dad as he wears a lot of browns. I really must put some sock blockers on my Christmas list. I see gorgeous pictures of socks on other blogs and they look really professional on their blockers.

I'm still enjoying crocheting though, and I'm making at least one granny square every day so that I keep on with my blanket.

  5. Hi Jo,
Those sock are brilliant, I love the colours. Socks look really difficult to me, don't think I could tackle them. I know it's scary mentioning the C word but it amazing how quick it creeps up on you.
I am trying to do at least one granny square a day too, I think I might forget how to do if I don't!
    Have a good week.

  7. Thanks for all your comments, everyone.

Mum - Thank you for visiting. I chose the colour as my dad wears a lot of brown, so they should go with most things.

Bluebell - Socks look much harder than they actually are, give them a go, I'm sure you'll surprise yourself.

  11. I love knitting socks, Amanda. I started off with a really easy pattern, but I'm having a go at some patterned ones now. I keep alternating my crochet with knitting to keep everything interesting.

  12. I'm a bit of a compulsive sock knitter so I'm glad to see so many on your blog! I think I may have made some for my Dad in a very similar colourway to these; I wonder if they're designed with Dads in mind? :-) xx

  13. I've had a bit of a break from knitting socks but I'm back to it again now, just in time for the good weather (hopefully) ha ha. This colourway must definitely be designed with dads in mind.
