It's Show Time

Last night, we had tickets to see Eleanor perform with her drama group in a concert at the local church.

They were singing songs from the shows. The first half was taken up with songs from Les Miserables, The Lion King, Phantom of the Opera and a song from Miss Saigon. The second half was a little more varied with an Abba medley as well as songs from other shows.

Eleanor sang I Don't Know How To Love Him from Jesus Christ Superstar, as well as performing in all the songs sung by the chorus. As usual, Eleanor loved it whilst I was sat like a bag of nerves waiting for her turn to come. I do enjoy listening to her though, she's got a lovely voice, not inherited from me I might add.

It was a wonderful show, there's lots of talented kids involved, and as usual, Eleanor did us proud.

  1. It sounds as if you had a lovely evening. Do you mentally sing every note with Eleanor as she's performing? I do this with my kids at school. By the end of a concert I'm more wrung out with nervous exhaustion than they are!! Seriously, I'm glad it went well. You must be very proud of her. Jx

  2. Hi Jo, ooh I bet you were more nervous than Eleanor! Have you got a little pop star on your hands? Or maybe someone a bit more classical? Lots of love xxx

  7. Thank you for all your lovely comments.

Jan - Yes, I do mentally sing each note with Eleanor, though it's a good job it's in my head or else everyone would leave the building if they actually heard me sing. I'm very proud of her.

Emma - Eleanor doesn't get nervous at all, I wish I could be as laid back about her performing as she is. She likes all types of music, she's enjoying learing songs in other languages at the moment too, though I think it's musical theatre which she enjoys the most.

Sft - Yes, it's a lovely song. I really enjoyed the evening, there's lots of talented kids involved and I love to listen to them.

Anne - I'm exactly the same, I can't sing a note in tune.

Grace - I don't know where she gets her singing voice from, or her love of performing. There's no way I'd get up on stage.

Lisa - It was a lovely evening, I really enjoyed it.
