I seem to have been concentrating more on crochet just lately than knitting, so I thought I would rectify that.
Eleanor loves the Fetchings which I knit for her last year, so I thought I'd knit her another pair of fingerless mitts, though this time I'm following a different pattern.
These are Humanity, and as you can see from the pattern, they're longer in the arm than Fetching. I thought these might keep her a little bit warmer.
I'm enjoying getting back to my knitting, though I'm still crocheting a granny square each day to add to my One A Day blanket.
Pretty colour wool, and a lovely design. Lucky Eleanor!
ReplyDeleteWell done for completing a granny square a day! Maybe if I did that I might finally finish the granny square blanket I started about 3 years ago!
Hope all well with you and your family Jo.
Gill xx
I forgot to mention the wool, it's Debbie Bliss Rialto Aran 100% Merino and it's incredibly soft. I'm enjoying adding to my blanket at a slow pace, very relaxing.
DeleteI find that crochet is much quicker than knitting but I do love to knit sometimes. It's very calming. I love the colour you're using xxx
ReplyDeleteCrochet is definitely much quicker than knitting, but I find it really relaxing.
DeleteLoving the colour wool your using Joe. Not knitted for years and can only do basic knit one, pearl one so your project is looking very complicated to me lol x
ReplyDeleteThis is a cable pattern, but it's very easy. If you can knit and purl, then you can pick up everything else.
DeleteI love your mittens. Love the colour too!
ReplyDeleteJune
I used this colour for the other fingerless mitts I knit, but it's the only aran I've got in the house at the moment so it had to be this or nothing. Now if I'd needed sock yarn, I've got skeins of that.
DeleteThey look lovely. What a pretty pattern. They look similar to some full mittens I saw on Ravelry called Bella.
ReplyDeleteHope all's well with you.

They do look similar. I don't know why Eleanor prefers fingerless, I prefer to keep my fingers warm.
DeleteWhat a lovely colour! And if you get a move on then the gloves will be ready for the bad weather due this weekend!
ReplyDeleteThey definitely won't be ready for this weekend, I'm a slow knitter.
DeleteThey look great and love that colour. My knitting will be hopefully going again when this weather cools down. We are in the middle of a heatwave and it's MARCH!
ReplyDeleteKnitting isn't the best thing to be doing in a heatwave, it always warms me up handling the yarn. It's definitely a winter pursuit.
DeleteLove both patterns, I could do with making myself a pair :) xx
ReplyDeleteI never seem to get round to making things for myself, there's always someone else asking for me to make this or that for them.
DeleteThe mittens look great, Jo. What a fabulous colour! :o)
ReplyDeleteI've done both pairs in the same colour out of necessity, I didn't have any other aran in my stash. I shall have to remedy that. Any excuse to buy more yarn.
DeleteGorgeous colour, I bet Eleanor will be so happy with them.
ReplyDeleteLisa x
Eleanor's waiting patiently for me to get them done, but I'm a very slow knitter so I don't know when that will be.
DeleteWhat a lovely colour - really fashionable at the moment. I'm busy with the crochet hook at the moment. I'm making squares inspired by spring flowers, which has become very absorbing!!!!! Jx
ReplyDeleteEleanor would rather have fingerless mitts than ones with the fingers covered. Your squares sound really pretty, looking forward to seeing them.
DeleteVery nice - I like the pattern and the colour. Lucky Eleanor! I am knitting a simple scarf at the moment but it's taking ages and I'm dying to pick up some crochet again.

I'm still crocheting a granny square each day, so I'm not totally without my crochet. I enjoy both knitting and crochet so it's nice to have a bit of each on the go.
DeleteWhat a lovely idea.

I'm enjoying getting on with some knitting again, though I'm still loving crochet too.
DeleteJust saw your lovely little King Charles Spaniel next to your name at another post reply and had to come calling ~ glad I did love Fetchings and am inspired to crochet some granny squares again too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting and leaving a comment. I love crocheting granny squares, it's so relaxing.
