Finished

I've finally finished the Humanity fingerless mitts which I started a while ago for Eleanor.

They're lovely and long in the arm so they should keep her snuggly warm in this cold weather we're having, though I must say that I prefer my gloves or mittens to cover my fingers, but Eleanor's very happy with these.

I used Debbie Bliss Rialto Aran which is 100% extra fine merino, and lovely and soft.

I don't have any knitting on the go now, and just my One A Day blanket on my crochet hook, so I need to start a couple more projects to keep me going. I've been wanting to have a go at a ripple blanket for a while so I may start one, but I need to buy some yarn for it yet, and it's been a while since I've knit any socks, so that may be my next knitting project. I've got plenty of sock wool in my stash.

    1. They should keep Eleanors arms warm as they're quite long. Socks aren't as scary as they sound, I enjoy knitting them and they keep your feet lovely and toasty.

  5. Those are really lovely Jo - the pattern and the colour. Who would have thought we would still be having such cold weather when it's almost April. We've had snow flurries on and off all day again.

  8. Such a lovely dusky colour. Who would think we would still need these in March and April!
I think a shopping trip is due for more yarn, I love the look of ripple blankets.

    1. I love the colour. I bought this yarn a year or two ago and used some of it for some other fingerless mitts last year. I'm just looking for the cheapest place to buy yarn from. There's places where it's quite cheap online, but the postage ends up bumping the price up.

  9. Lovely colour and pattern. Would they be good for people who suffer with chillblains?

    1. I expect they would be good for people who suffer with chillblains. Eleanor likes her fingers to be free so that she can use her gadgets, phone, iPod etc.

  10. Lovely practical mittens so it's not surprising that Eleanor loves them and her friends admire them. A pretty colour, too.
