A Sweet Valentine's Day

We've never really celebrated Valentine's Day. There's been the occasional year when we've bought cards or made a token gesture but more often than not we just haven't bothered. I couldn't resist these cupcakes when I saw them in Greggs though, aren't they cute covered in tiny hearts?

And yes, I'm on a diet so they weren't bought for me and Mick, Eleanor's going over to York after work tonight to stay at her boyfriend's for the weekend so I gave them to her for a little treat for them both.

Happy Valentine's Day!

  1. I've been doing well on my diet, but it is suspended for 2 days, tonight we are having a Chinese takeaway and tomorrow hubby is cooking steak, so a bottle of wine will be opened.

  2. They are very sweet. When I saw them on Instagram I thought you had made them yourself. I've baked some heart shaped cookies for Lily (she doesn't like icing) and this evening I am going to treat us to some warm from the oven chocolate brownies.
    Happy Valentine's Day ! X

We swap cards and sometimes give a little gift but we don't take it too seriously either.

  4. We don't really celebrate Valentine Day either. I can't have flowers in the house (allergy), and I can't eat chocolate. -smile- But I do put some decorations up.

Those cupcakes are soooo sweeeet! I'm sure they will enjoy them.

  7. It was a low-key Valentine's Day for us, but we do mark the day in some way and these days take pleasure in hearing about our grandchildren's enjoyment of the day with their partners. Those cupcakes look lovely and I'm sure they were enjoyed.
