I thought I'd do a little update post on the projects I'm working on at the moment, not that there's been much progress on any of them, but they're starting to take shape.
First of all, my cross stitch. I'm really enjoying this, it's so relaxing to work on. I started a cross stitch many years ago, I must have been about eleven or twelve at the time, but it never got finished so it will be an accomplishment if I manage to work on this to the end. I don't see why I won't, I think cross stitch may be a new hobby for me.
My Granny Stripe Blanket is growing slowly. I've now used all the seventeen colours I'm working with so the next rows will be the same colours jumbled up.
This is a good project to work on whilst I'm watching television as it's so easy to get in to a rhythm with it and I don't need to concentrate on what I'm doing.
I recently finished knitting the Blackberry Beanie for Eleanor so I've started on the Winter Green hat in issue 128 of Simply Knitting for myself. It's knit in Wendy Aspire which is a chunky yarn so I'm sure it will knit up quite quickly. It's got a lace pattern so I shall have to concentrate on that.
I've still got lots of projects which I want to have a go at waiting in the wings but I get quite tetchy if I have too many things on the go at once so I don't want to start anything else just yet.
What are you working on? How about doing a project update post yourself and leaving me a comment here so that I can pop by? I love to see what other people are working on.
Don't forget, if you haven't already entered my giveaway, you've got until twelve noon on Friday the 20th of March 2015 to do so, just leave a comment on my Sewing Machine Basics Giveaway post.
Cross stitch is one of those really relaxing things that just soothes the soul isn't it.
ReplyDeleteI kind of did a project update post on Saturday ... what's been happening, or not, in my studio.
I'm really enjoying the cross stitch, more than I thought I would actually. I shall pop across to your blog to read what you've been up to in your studio.
DeleteI really enjoy cross stitch, just don't always have a lot of time and over the last two weekends cross stitch sunday has tuned into cross stitch hour or two as I've been busy reading as the last two books I've been reading I haven't been able to put down. Still working on a blanket for D's office but still away to go on that.
ReplyDeleteThat's the problem when you've got a few hobbies, you end up getting caught up in one and then the others get put to the side for a while. If only we had more hours in the day.
DeleteLove your projects, like you I can not have too many on the go at once. All your work are so colourful xx
ReplyDeleteI used to only have one thing on the go at once but it's actually quite sensible to have more so that you can work on whatever takes your fancy at the time, or something easier which you don't have to concentrate on for when you're watching television or talking. I do try to limit myself though. There's certainly a lot of colour in the blanket.
DeleteCross stitch is something I always go back to, especially small projects which I can carry round with me. I have a mixed bag of projects so I must take photos and do a post. One of those 'roundtoit's' xcx
ReplyDeleteCross stitch is certainly more portable than many crafts. I'm really enjoying it and thinking about my next project already. I shall look forward to your post, I like to see what other people are up to.
DeleteOh isn't that blanket lovely, the colours are just wonderful. Well done on the cross stitch progress.
ReplyDeleteLisa x
I'm enjoying crocheting the blanket, it's fun choosing which colour to use next. I've worked a little more on my cross stitch today, it's coming along well.
DeleteI love a bit of cross stitch, though prefer it in the day rather than the evening (my eyes are getting older), it is relaxing. I'm finishing off a project I started last year, it's a good feeling! xx
ReplyDeleteI can't work on my cross stitch on an evening, I definitely need daylight with my eyesight. I don't know what I'd do without my glasses now.
DeleteYour cross-stitch is looking really good. I'd think you'd done lots of it before now.
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying it, I'm looking forward to moving on to a new one now, I'm already looking around at different designs. I think I've caught the cross stitch bug.
DeleteI've just made a little knitted bear for one of my friends, but the weekend was so chaotic that I completely failed to take a picture before I gave it her as a gift. Hopeless! Jx
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame, I'm sure it went down well though. I've got Edward's Menagerie to start as some point though I've never crocheted anything like that before so I'm not sure I'll be up to it.
DeleteEverything looks great, Jo. :o)
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm pleased how everything's coming along.
DeleteJust catching up "AGAIN". I love the blackberry beanie and is that the same one that was on Gail's blog? I'm sure you will finish your cross stitch, probably long before the 2 "tiny" boats I started so many years ago. Now I think I'll have to finish them. Your granny blanket is coming along nicely and look forward to seeing that hat. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThe Blackberry Beanie is the same pattern as the one on Gail's blog, we used different colours though. I'm sure I will finish the cross stitch eventually, I'm really enjoying it. It's a lovely mild day here today so I'm not sure I'll get chance to wear the hat I'm making before spring arrives but it will be good to have for next year.
DeleteLove the granny stripe, the colours are so nice. I used to do a lot of cross stitch to relax before I had children. I like to take a cross stitch project when we go on holiday as they take up a lot less space than balls of yarn.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying the Granny Stripe blanket, it's nice to have something on the go which I don't have to concentrate too hard on. I always take something with me when I go on holiday so perhaps I shall take my cross stitch now instead of taking up so much room in the car with crochet projects.
DeleteI've just popped over from My Blethering Blog, and have enjoyed rading back through your posts. I got the same Red Nose as you - he is now perched on top of the kitchen roll holder! I, too, am trying to eat more healthily!
ReplyDeleteI have been having a problem leaving comments on some blogs and have to use my Google ID, which doesn't give a link back to me, so here is the link

Thank you for visiting, I love new people to pop by but I only know they have when they leave me a comment. My healthy eating is going fairly well so far, I had a bit of a blip at the weekend but I'm back on the straight and narrow again now. I hope you're managing to keep it up too.
DeleteGood projects. I feel like I've had no time to live recently! I'm only just getting back on to bloglovin after a week or two's hiatus!
ReplyDeleteLife can take over sometimes leaving little time for anything else. If only there were more hours in a day.
DeleteThey're all looking good, well done. Flighty xx
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm enjoying working on them all.
DeleteReally like the granny stripe. Its on my to do list to have a go at one. I just don't think I would ever finish it though.
ReplyDeleteCrochet works up so quickly, but I don't mind having projects on the go for a long time. My On The Go blanket which I only crochet on when I'm away from home has been hanging around for a couple of years. I'm not sure when that will get finished.
DeleteYour granny stripe blanket looks lovely - fab colours! I'm crocheting in very muted neutrals at the moment, so I'm envious of all the bright colours!
ReplyDeleteI do love bright colours, but I'm always itching to go on to something different once I start a project. I'm considering something with a much smaller colour palette next.
DeleteLove your granny stripe blanket!
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's growing steadily, I'm thinking of it as a long term project.
DeleteThat all looks good, gorgeous blanket so colorful! Good color for the hat, I bet it will look nice when its done. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't got much of the hat left to knit now, it knits up really quickly and I'd have had it done already if I didn't have so many other things on the go.
