Photo Medley - February

I usually have lots of photos on my camera which never make it on to the blog, but there aren't very many for February. It's been so cold just lately that I haven't been out much with my camera, so I thought I'd show you a few more photos which I took around the lake at Thornes Park.

You can see how icy it was, the birds look as though they're walking on water.

I'm hoping that the weather is going to start warming up so that I can get out and about a bit more with my camera. Let's see what March brings.

    1. Actually, we'd gone to visit the garden rather than the lake so I didn't take any food with me, though there was a man and his little boy feeding them so they didn't go hungry.

  2. I hope it warms up soon too, if anything it feels a little colder xx

    1. It does here too, especially with a gale blowing as it is today.

  3. The wind chill means that it's not pleasant to stand and take photos at the moment.
I expect you're glad of your woolly hat or beanie!

    1. I have to confess that I've knit Eleanor a beanie but it's been waiting to be sewn up, my worst part. A hat for myself has been put on hold, so my ears are rather cold in this weather.

  4. Surely March will bring with it some fine weather it feels like we've been in winter for at least 6 months when I know it's only 3. I do like Canada Geese it looks so cold on the water doesn't it.

    1. I hope so, I'm ready for spring now. I like Canada Geese too, they're proper characters. The water was iced over.

  5. It's no fun at all to try to photograph when your body is uncomfortable. I've been taking fewer outdoor photos lately too, especially in the past few days since our warm spell ended and it got really cold. I love to watch geese and ducks, they're always so busy and have a lot to talk about. :)

    1. I hate being cold so it's a case of taking only the photos I really want to during winter. I'm outside every day, sun, rain or snow, walking Archie but I don't tend to linger unless it's a mild day.I enjoy watching geese and ducks too, but I'm happier watching the garden birds on the feeders from the comfort of my armchair in this cold weather.

  6. Poor ducks, they looked like they were having fun though. Weather here is reasonably mild, except for the gusting wind xx

    1. The ducks were getting fed, so they were happy. It's been very blustery here today too, my worst kind of weather as it scares me to death.

  7. It's so funny to watch the ducks walk on the ice. Funnier yet is when they go to land on a strip of ice and slide. Nice pictures!

    1. I thought I'd have lots of photos for these medley posts, I think I will in summer but it obviously isn't working out that way in winter.

  10. I'm not surprised that you've not been out much lately, nor have I! Good photos, I keep trying to count them in the last one. Flighty xx

    1. It's far too cold to venture far. Thank you, that last photo is like one of those competitions where you have to say how many birds there are.

    1. I didn't realise the lake was frozen when we first got there so I did a second take at the birds, they really did look as though they were walking on water.

  14. I love photos of birds (any sort) and once it is a bit warmer, you'll be back out with the camera ready. I'm the opposite at the moment with it being too hot, though not as bad the last couple of days. Take care.

    1. It's a lovely day today and I've just been watching all the birds on my feeders, I could sit and watch them all day. I'm looking forward to the weather warming up a bit, though I don't like it too hot either.
