It's not all fun though, and not for Archie either. He's not particularly fond of the rain.
When he comes home filthy, he has to have a bath. That's something else he's not fond of, though I have to say that he's quite good and stands still. Notice how clean the water is when he's just got in.
This is the colour of the water after he's been washed.
We've got gales again here today. Oh well, I'd better get my coat on as Archie's waiting for walkies!
He's so cute, bless him. Look at that little face! My daughter keeps on about getting a dog, she wants a westie (I think) and wants to call him Henry.
ReplyDeleteLots of love,

If you have visited my blog you will have seen my new responsibility - can't wait for walks with Ted and Freida - Freida loves other dogs. Yesterday she had a great walk on the beach so is quite content in front of the fire as I sit here.
ReplyDeletePoor Archie, he looks fed up. Lottie doesn't "do" rain! and stays quite clean thanks to her short fur, but when she has her feet washed in the sink she hates it! xx
ReplyDeleteLook at his lovely face, he's not happy hehe. Best get my boots on, it's 'walkies' time here too x
ReplyDeletehe looks fed up. Our Moss just loves the water/rain/mud! I know what you mean about having to get out there, does give you a push! Amanda x
ReplyDeleteI love the sequence of "Mum - why are you taking pictures of me now? I just want warmth and cuddles!" expressions! Archie is seriously cute!!!!
ReplyDeleteI thought dogs loved the water. Cats on the other hand, hate baths.
ReplyDeleteIts the best and worst thing about having a dog! x
ReplyDeletePoor Archie, drowned in the rain then drowned in the bath!
ReplyDeleteLove from Mum
xx
I leave the winter walks to my husband I'm afraid... I'm a fair weather walker. Luckily our labrador just needs a rub down with a towel when she gets wet. She loves it!

Archie is one of the cutest dogs I've ever seen. Bless him!
ReplyDeleteJo, it's great that Archie gets you out and about.
ReplyDeleteHe's a little star!

His expression says it all! Flighty xx
ReplyDeleteOh Archies so cute, what gorgeous big puppy eyes.My dogs will not go out in the rain, they hate it,they also hate baths and stand there shaking! I try to get it over as quickly as possible with a big warm towel waiting, what a life! happy weekend, lots of love juliexxx
ReplyDeleteOur cavalier has exactly the same expression when he was a bath. He hates the rain too. And on the very rare occasion he's gone in sea (usually to chase us when we were swimming) he swims like a lady scared of getting her hair wet with a look of panic on his face.
ReplyDeleteHehe.
ReplyDeleteWhat a soggy doggie.
Poor Archie doesn't look happy at all.
ReplyDeleteArchie is looking very sorry for himself, they just don't enjoy baths do they.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a dry weekend.

Thank you for all your lovely comments.
ReplyDeleteEmma - Archie's breeder had given him the name of Henry before he came to us, but we changed it as we'd already thought of a name before we'd seen him.
Denise - Ted is so cute. We used to have a Springer Spaniel when I was a child, they have lots of energy.
Serendipity - Archie only has to go out when it's a little bit wet and he comes home soaking, it's because his fur is so long, it trails on the ground at some points.
Kathy - Archie races around the house when the towel comes out, he hates being towel dried.
Lorna - Archie loves the sea, and especially rock pools, though he doesn't like being towel dried afterwards.
Lisa - Archie is really quite good in the bath. We used to have a Labrador when I was a child and he would try to jump out of the bath, it wasn't easy keeping him in there, he was a strong dog.
