Daffs

It's daffodil time again. I'm always eager after Christmas to buy my first bunch but it didn't happen until the end of January this year.

Just a few hours after buying them, the first bud unfurled, it doesn't take long.

Twenty four hours later and they were just about all open.

They don't last long but they're such a cheap and cheery flower to brighten up the house in the depths of winter.

  3. I always used to pick up a bunch of daffies when I went my grocery shopping but that's a thing of the past these days. I never remember to see if my online delivery has them. I must try harder as they really do brighten your day just looking at them.

  4. It's lovely to see the first color of Spring even if they aren't in the garden. I shall check today when I go to the supermarket to see what they have on offer. Daffodils would certainly brighten our dreary days.💖

  6. I got some too but I think they must have been out of water for too long because some of them didn't even open. I'm going to get some more tomorrow when I do my shopping they really cheer you up don't they.

  8. Hello Jo,

there are just a few things we miss doing when we are not in the UK and this is definitely one of them. As you say, this burst of yellow is so uplifting and it really fills one with joy.

Cheap and cheerful, what better way to bring light into the darkness of the days.

  15. Gorgeous & I love daffs too. Someone asked me just last week, when the times was to plant spring bulbs & I thought we must try & get to one of the specialist bulb nurseries in The Dandenongs. No garden shows on the horizon for this year, again, so hopefully we'll still be able to get out for a while, unless another wave happens earlier than they expect. Take care, stay safe & hugs.
