Freebies From The Garden Centre

Our local garden centre often post leaflets through the doors of local households offering free gifts. All we have to do to claim them is call in, while stocks last.

Back in September, the households in our area were offered six narcissus bulbs, the variety is Tamara. Yes please, I'll have those. They're now planted out in the garden where they should flower in spring. When I collected the bulbs I was given a till receipt offering some free fat balls. It was September at the time but the fat balls weren't available until the 1st of November. That's fine, I just squirrelled the receipt away until it was offer time. The birds will be very thankful of these now that the weather's turned cold.

It's a lovely garden centre, not the cheapest place for garden essentials but we pick up bits and pieces from here throughout the year, and we always enjoy looking around it at Christmas time. In fact, they're in full Christmas mode now and it's all looking very festive.

  1. We have a loads of garden places here, most are nurseries and we get wonderful plants, we also have an expensive garden centre with loads of different things, which too is now full of Christmas, I do love walking around there, but I purchase my plants at the nursery.

  3. That's brilliant and a good way of retaining local trade. If I have a lot of fat of a joint etc, I put oats into it and mold. They are put out for the birds.

  4. How lovely, especially in these difficult times for retailers. You'll enjoy that splash of yellow in the Spring.

  5. Some great offers. I expect it encourages people to call in and spend on other things while they are there. I'm looking forward to seeing the Christmas displays. X

  6. I love freebies! that's what I call a win win. The birds in my garden seem to have deserted me the bird feeders remain untouched I'm hoping that they will come back when the weather gets colder.

  13. What a lovely idea & I've always been blown away by your garden centres in UK. I picked up some lovely terrarium necessities for my s-i-l last time in UK, & it could be the one near you. Look forward to seeing your daffs in bloom. Take care, stay safe & huggles.

  15. I think the park's program is very good, because the parks in my country have never held a prize program like that.

    Greetings from Indonesia.

  19. How lovely, everyone likes a freebie :) Those narcissus will look super in the spring.
My local garden centre gives vouchers for a free cuppa in the tearoom if you spend over a certain amount (but I'd prefer free plants ;) )
