No more procrastinating, I've finally set up an Instagram account.
Engage in social media was on my 50 Before 50 list but I never set up an account in the two years that I worked my way through this challenge. Better late than never. I thought that Eleanor could help me set it up but she's away from home staying at her boyfriend's at the moment so Mick and I muddled through the set up process, it was like the blind leading the blind, though Mick says we wasn't even that good. Goodness knows what I'm doing with it but I'll give it a go.
Please come and find me if you use Instagram, you can find me if you search jothroughthekeyhole.
I now need to find out how I find and follow people on there. Please leave me a comment with your Instagram user name and I'll do my best to find you.
Congrats on joining Instagram! It's so much fun. I found you and started following you. My Instagram account is patriciashaker. Happy New Year 🎉🎉🎉ReplyDelete
Thank you, I've now followed you back. Thank you, happy new year to you too.Delete
I started an Instagram account last year, I wanted to see how it worked but don't use it now. Sent you a message.xxxReplyDelete
I've been saying that I'll start an account for some time, it's taken me quite a while to do so. I've got your message, thank you.Delete
Must admit that I don’t do Instagram. Don’t you need to take your photos on a mobile phone? I like my camera.ReplyDelete
I used my iPad to set up the account and take a photo, I think it can be done on either. I'm not quite sure how it all works yet but we'll see how I get on.Delete
It's easy enough if you just follow the directions. It also somehow lets you know who is on there that you might know.ReplyDelete
If you get a request from a good looking Collie dog, that's me.
I've managed what I want to do so far, it seems easy enough. I shall look out for a good looking Collie dog.Delete
Hurray! I think you'll like Instagram - I've already looked you up and clicked on that follow button :)ReplyDelete
Thank you. It seems more instant than writing a blog post, I'll have to be more spontaneous I think.Delete
How very exciting. I'm looking forward to seeing your posts. XReplyDelete
It's fun to be starting off the new year with something new.Delete
Good luck with it, I only blog.ReplyDelete
Thank you. I've only ever blogged up till now, time will tell whether or not I get on with Instagram.Delete
Hello there, I have an IG account - my photos are very ordinary though and not at all exciting! My account is called tegofoik.ReplyDelete
I shall look for you on there. It will be nice to be able to connect with those people who read here who don't have blogs themselves.Delete
IG can be enjoyable. I set a one up, a year ago. Got too engaged there, I fear. Since blogging is my real love, I didn't have time for doing both.
But there are so many delightful IG's to visit! It can be wonderful.
Just don't let it becomes a chore.
I can see how it can become addictive but I think it's like most things in life, you have to get the balance right.Delete
Sorry Jo, I don't do Instagram.ReplyDelete
But I wish you good luck and enjoy it:)
All the best Jan
Thank you. It's my first step into social media, apart from the blog, so we'll see how I get on.Delete
Good on you! Have found and followed you !ReplyDelete
Thank you, I shall look out for you on there.Delete
Brilliant, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.ReplyDelete
I hope so. So far so good.Delete
Well done! I don't use Instagram (or facebook), though I've been told that lots of people in the quilting community use it to show off their makes, quiltalongs, challenges, etc. I'm actually a tad scared of it & am not very tech savvy. Think I'll just stick with my blog. Have fun & take care.ReplyDelete
I feel exactly the same but, as you say, there's a big crafting community on there and that's the main reason I wanted to set up an account. I've managed to muddle my way through so far.Delete
Going over to say hello.ReplyDelete
Thank you. I shall look out for you and say hello back.Delete
I'm lovemademyhome and I look forward to seeing you there! Off to follow you now. To follow me or anyone else all you need to do is click on my name and then follow and then the posts will appear, but I expect someone has already told you this or you worked it out, it is very easy and very friendly!ReplyDelete
Thank you. I really have found it much easier than I thought it would be.Delete
I have an unused account there as Sofaflyer, but do occasionally look at others so I'm now following you. xxReplyDelete
Thank you. I've followed you back in case you, one day, decide to use the account.Delete
Good luck with IG, not something I bother with.ReplyDelete
Hope you will still keep blogging. Last year I noticed a lot of lovely bloggers moving to Instagram and giving up on their blogs.
I hope I won't lose my enthusiasm for blogging, it's something I've been doing for a long time now and the posts are lovely to look back on as the years pass, I'm not sure if it will be the same with Instagram.Delete
I’ll have a look for you and follow. I have an Instagram account but it has never really grabbed me. Blogs are so much more personal imho.ReplyDelete
Thank you. I definitely think you connect more with blogs, Instagram is more of a spontaneous thing.Delete
My IG account is jodiebodiecrochets but my main focus is the Lupey Loops blog. I've followed friends to IG but am not into the daily posting of every little thing. I am gettingv fed up with IG spam and the bot culture there. The blogosphere is much nicer so zi hoe you will keep your blog going Jo.ReplyDelete
I have every intention of keeping my blog going at the moment, I love the friendships which are built up through blogging, but I must admit that I'm enjoying Instagram so far too. I haven't been doing it long yet so we'll see how it goes.Delete
