How Did That Happen?

It's Daniel's birthday today, he's twenty. Just how did that happen? How did my baby boy turn in to a strapping twenty year old in the blink of an eye? I don't feel old enough to have a twenty year old son.

We won't be seeing him today but he's coming home for the weekend with his girlfriend tomorrow so we're going out for a meal tomorrow night, I'm sure he'll have some plans of his own for Saturday and then I shall cook a roast dinner for them before we take them back to university on Sunday.

Happy birthday, Daniel.

  1. Oh, happy birthday Daniel! All the best people are born today (including both my Mum and my daughter!) Hope you all have a good time celebrating together and apart.... and you DON'T look old enough to have a 20 year old son!

    1. Thank you. Happy birthday to both your mum and your daughter too. Like your daughter, I was born on my nana's birthday. Hmmm, I don't feel old enough to have a 20 year old son but my mirror confirms I am.

    1. Thank you. He was usually off school on his birthday as half term is usually this week. Now he's at uni he still has lectures this week but no where near as many as usual and he's ended up with a free day today so I'm sure he'll be doing something to celebrate. I always make sure he's well fed when he comes home, you know what students are like for meals.

  3. Don't they grow up fast. It was Alex's birthday on Tuesday and he turned 24 and it will be Francesca's 21st on Monday. Like you say how did my babies get so big. Hope you have a lovely meal/weekend.

  6. Many happy returns of the day to Daniel. My Daniel's birthday is late October, so he too always had his birthday in half term, then he always saved a holiday for it, not quite so easy now, quite scary to see the years flick by. Enjoy your meal and weekend, lovely being all together xcx

    1. I'm the baby of the family and I'm 46 so I don't know what my mum and dad think of that. We'll definitely be spoiling Daniel when he gets home, but that's no different to normal. Thank you, I'm sure he's having a lovely day.

  19. Happy Birthday Daniel. I'm sure the family are all so proud of him. Yes, time does fly as my granddaughter is now 18, and you feel not old enough to have a son of 20, can you imagine how I feel with a grandchild nearly that age (lol). Take care.

  24. They grow up so quickly, don't they? I know it's a cliche, but it really is gone in the blink of an eye. I couldn't quite believe it when my son turned 15 earlier this month - I want time to slow down a bit!!
