Has anyone else discovered Wordle? I'm probably very late to the party, as usual, but I love word games and this is right up my street.
No one in my family particularly enjoys playing things such as Scrabble, so that's something I often play online, and Wordle is now something else I can have a go at each day.
From Wikipedia - "Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or grey: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while grey indicates it is not in the answer at all. The daily word is the same for everyone."
I haven't failed at guessing the word yet, though it's been very close a couple of times. Do you enjoy word games? Have you played Wordle?
I only heard about Wordle yesterday and had to give it a go. I watch Lingo most afternoons and love word games. What a shame there's only one Wordle a day, right up my street too. Hubby won't play Scrabble with me either :(
ReplyDeleteI'm not so good with words, I have always preferred numbers, maths ect.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds fun. I don't usually do games online but do have a puzzle book on hand to keep the brain ticking over!
ReplyDeleteI haven't played this one but I did play one very similar, I had to delete it in the end because it was becoming addictive. Great for the little grey cells though. xx
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried it as I generally don't play word games. It's a popular topic on Twitter judging by the number of tweets I see about it. xx
ReplyDeleteYes.I have been doing it and not failed yet.I love word games and play Wordscapes and Word trip on line.
ReplyDeleteI have heard of Wordle but had no idea what it was until you provided a description. It sounds like fun, hope you continue to enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy word games, too, Jo. But I'm not sure this one is available in the US. Sounds fun. I'll check it out. P. x
ReplyDeleteI found it and I'm hooked!!
DeleteI have never heard of it but will go and check it out, I love a good word game !
ReplyDeleteI "love" word games & my better half doesn't really enjoy, although I can coax him sometimes. Will check it out if I can. Do you do play Bananagrams? That's another you can play by yourself. Thanks for telling about Wordle. Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of Bananagrams.
DeleteNever heard of it Jo, I bet its one of those that becomes additive very quickly though.
ReplyDeleteYes, I've been playing it every day since last week. I really love it
ReplyDeleteThere has been a lot of talk about Wordle and it seems to be quite popular but its not something I've tried.
ReplyDeleteI hope you continue to enjoy it.
All the best Jan
Thanks for the recommendation, I had a go tonight and loved it. Got it in four! Love playing scrabble too. Have you played Wordfeud online. It’s like scrabble without too many gimmicks. If you are interested I’ll send you my user name. B x
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of Wordfeud, I'd better not start anything else, I spend enough time on the computer as it is, haha. Someone mentioned Absurdle to me though, same principle as Wordle but a little harder and you can play as many times each day as you like.
DeleteI'm not much of a game player, though occasionally play solitaire, and puzzle related games; though typically not word related. I've tried to stay away from Wordle, as it's become such a trendy thing. It's all over facebook and twitter with people posting their scores. But, the beauty of it, from my understanding is, it's only a once a day gig, so people don't spend hours doing it.

I LOVE word games and will have to look this one up. I haven't seen it before. I always loved Scrabble, too. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteNot something I really fancy to be honest. I like Scrabble and doing crosswords, watch Countdown when I can and occasionally Lingo but for some reason that annoys me after a while. Wordfall came up on my tablet the other day, looks interesting so I might give that a try sometime.
ReplyDeleteI wi11 have to try it! thanks
ReplyDeleteI love Wordle. I hadn't heard of it until a couple of weeks ago when I heard its creator being interviewed on Radio 4. He invented it for himself and his partner and makes no money out of it at all. It reminds me very much of the old Mastermind game. x
ReplyDeleteHeard of it but never tried it or do I intend to either!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of it, must check it out.xxx
