I've got quite a few projects on the go at the moment from a number of different crafts, some of them get worked on regularly whereas others seem to be languishing so I've come up with a way to ensure that the things I want to work on get some regular attention.
I've taken seven of my outstanding knitting, crochet and cross stitch projects and I'm making sure that I choose one each day and putting at least an hour's work into it. Things may not progress as quickly as they would if I were concentrating solely on one or two projects but at least all seven projects are getting worked on.
I've got a list of other outstanding projects or things that I want to start and they'll get added to the rotation one by one as each current project gets finished.
It may seem that it's a laborious task working this way but I'm really enjoying it. I haven't given each project a set day to be worked on, I pick up whichever one I fancy that day and I'm loving that each piece is getting closer to being finished.
Sounds like a good plan, Jo! :o)
ReplyDeleteI like the look of those little squares, are they knitted, so cute.

That's a great idea and it does help you tackle you are less enthusiastic about things. Its the technique I adopt when I hate a particular cleaning job!
ReplyDeleteThat seems like a good plan.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a good plan, I just keep casting on :)
ReplyDeleteI don't have enough self discipline but i have lined up my WIPs and am not allowing myself to cast on anything other than socks un till I have worked through them. Penny sweater is now finished and I will select another bag at random this evening. Now that I am spinning it is difficult to concebtrate on anything else.
ReplyDeleteWhat a smart lady you are! I have been slowly working my way through projects, too. Still have a list that seems never-ending. I am proud of you for plugging away a bit at a time. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea Jo. I pick up my crocheting when my eyes need a rest from an embroidery project. I decided to make more granny squares and add to the blanket that I'm working on. I shall add them to the panel I've already done. Going round and round one panel wasn't working out so I unpicked it and started again with the granny squares. They're more manageable and choosing different colours for each one adds to the variety and is more enjoyable. I hope you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteYour work looks wonderful you are so creative x
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of projects, I used to be the same but I reigned myself in and try to work on no more than three projects at once and do a bit of each everyday if I can. It's a great method you will find that those projects will be done before you know it.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds a good plan.
ReplyDeleteIt all looks very colourful.
All the best Jan
A great idea & in some ways I do that, but not really knowingly. I've have finished a few "oldies" of late & am working on labeling all the quilts I have in the cupboard. Come summer I hope to spend more time in the garden too. Take care, stay safe & huggles.
ReplyDeleteI need to have a second project on my needles. I messed up badly on two wips and have abandoned them both. Socks and . ????
ReplyDeletei did this during the NZ lockdown - hauled all the projects out of multiple cupboards. Finished a ton of stuff and started a scrap fabric quilt - finished that weeks after lockdown. Have been a knitting machine since!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! They'll all be done in no time.
ReplyDeleteSeven projects! I like your plan, sometimes working on a neglected project can rekindle the love for it. With your plan to work on each for a bit, you'll soon be finishing all xx
ReplyDeleteI think that's a great idea. I'm always back and forth about how I do things - sometimes I'll work on one project for a week or so, other times I go back and forth, then others I simply want everything on the needles finished so I go all out with each one until it's done. I cast on a bunch of different projects last week because I simply felt like it & now am alternating between them. There are no rules - just whatever makes us happy at any given time :)
ReplyDeleteI admire your determination to see the back of all those wips! I should follow your lead.💖
ReplyDeleteI think that's a really good idea. I'm terrible for getting carried away by the thrill of a new project before the current one is finished. Yesterday I finished off two projects which have been sitting at the bottom of my bag for months and I really enjoyed the work, I couldn't imagine why I had given up on them, and then I started a new one. At the beginning of the year I worked on three projects at once and loved the feeling when they were all finished together. x
ReplyDeleteLoving all your Wips,I'm sure you will finish them all.Loving the crochet, great colours.Hope you are slowly getting through this difficult time, thinking of you.Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours. That sounds like a great way to slowly work through your projects. X
ReplyDeleteI love that picture, so many lovely projects. I also have a similar list of things I need to sort.xxx
ReplyDeleteYour projects all look wonderful together. I love the idea of reminding ourselves what we are working on and intentionally picking of one of those to projects each day. I hope they all continue to bring you joy.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea. :)
ReplyDeleteI like this idea! It's nice to get things moving, if only a little bit at a time.
