A Sight For Sore Eyes

I like nothing better than seeing rows of hand knitted socks blowing dry on the washing line. Only second to that are rows of hand knitted socks drying on the clothes horse.

There's no way that any washing will dry outdoors today, it's damp and dull and very little wind so the clothes horse will have to do. It rained all day yesterday, there was no let up, and the temperature has dropped, I fear we've seen the last of any good weather.

A week's worth of socks. Don't they all look pretty?

  1. They look gorgeous. My wool socks are on now too and my feet are so comfy in them.

    1. I don't think you can beat hand knitted woolly socks in winter, they're so cosy.

  2. A very colourful array of yummyness. So frustrating when you can´t put the washing out, our storms have blown away now, but like you its turned cold and a little grey xcx

    1. It's raining again here now, I've had the light on all morning, it's so dark. I'm really not a fan of wintery days.

  3. My washing machine is almost done, and the sun has come out, so some things will go on the line today. Love all your socks, I am wearing my handmade ones more and each time I wear a pair the desire for more grows. So needles ready, yarn ready, lets knit.

    1. I'm glad that someone's getting some sunshine. I'm knitting my dad some socks for Christmas at the moment but I've still got my Strictly Knitalong socks on the go at the moment too, I'm looking forward to getting those on my feet.

  4. They do look pretty :-)
It's been the same here for the last two day too, I really don't mind the Winter but I don't like the damp and the rain. I'm afraid the clothes horse becomes a feature when the weather turns like this doesn't it.

    1. I hate having wet clothes hanging around the house but needs must, I much prefer washing when it's been dried outdoors but I doubt there'll be much of that now. I'm not a fan of winter, roll on spring.

  5. Heavy rain overnight here. We have Ginger's bedding out on the line, but everything else is on the clotheshorse in the spare bedroom :)

    1. We had a day of heavy rain yesterday and it's back again today. I've got all my towels on the clothes horse, something I much prefer to be dried outdoors, it always smells so much fresher.

    1. Ha ha, I wish I did, I could always use a few extra hours in each day. It's much chillier this week, winter is just around the corner.

  7. I hardly dare say that we are in a dry spell, so pegging out every day. It is very cold so even I am wearing hand knitted socks all day. When I wash them, once a week to make it worthwhile it is like pegging out a rainbow.

    1. I think I've finished pegging out for this year, even if it's dry there's a dampness in the air now. I usually save up my hand knitted socks until there's a weeks worth, I hand wash all the hand dyed ones so I wait until there's a few pairs.
