I've finally finished the March design of Joyful World. I only had the lettering to work on since I last showed you where I was at but I haven't been doing much stitching at all just lately.
I think I'll put this project away now until Christmas is over and done with and then I can start on the April design fresh in the new year.
Oh it does look good Jo ...
ReplyDeleteI think you have also been busy with other craft and Christmas activities!
Good idea though maybe to put this project away until after the Christmas and New Year period and then start anew on the April design.
All the best Jan
I'm really in to my knitting at the moment so the stitching has been on the back burner a little. I'm sure I'll come back to it in the new year when I have a little more time.
DeleteCongrats on the March finish, it looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been doing much crafting lately, there are so many things to fit in this time of year it can get a bit overwhelming. I'm looking forward to breaking up for Christmas and putting my feet up.
I know what you mean. I've got socks on my knitting needles for Eleanor and even though I'm really in to my knitting at the moment, I'm finding I just don't have time to knit on them much. Perhaps we'll both get a bit more crafting time over Christmas.
DeleteI keep finding cross stitches to do, but I am too busy at the moment trying to finish a mermaid's tale blanket!! I love the birds on this one. Roll on April!
ReplyDeleteThe April design is really lovely, well, they all are actually, I'm looking forward to getting to them all. There's always so many projects we want to have a go at, aren't there? I just wish there were more hours in the day.
DeleteSuch a joy to see your finished Month, with elements of Spring to tantalize us.
ReplyDeleteThe time will come round again when I'm stitching in the right month eventually but until then, it's nice to see the season to come.
DeleteYour stitching is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe designs certainly help, they're such a pleasure to work on.
DeleteBeautiful finish Jo......are you going to frame them or make them into one large piece?
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be one large piece, I'm not sure what I'll do with it yet though. It's such a big piece of fabric that I found it rather cumbersome when I started the project but I've got used to manhandling it a little whilst working on it.
DeleteIt will be a lovely finish.
DeleteI think so, it will be nice to have all twelve months grouped together like a calendar.
DeleteSo, so pretty, and a wise decision to wait till after the first of the year to continue.
ReplyDeleteThis month's design was a little bitty with small areas requiring different colours so I was forever stopping and starting, but I think it's lovely now it's all stitched up. Such a lovely design.
DeleteLooks good. I look forward to seeing April. Flighty xx
ReplyDeleteApril's design has a rabbit and a squirrel in it, it's lovely, though they all are, there isn't a month that I'm not keen on.
DeleteIt is lovely, unfortunately mine was put away in January. I cant see the holes in the cloth! I'm catching up slowly, I'm thrilled you have your children back for Christmas and Eleanor is still doing well x
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be able to see the holes either if it wasn't for my specs and a magnifying light. It's lovely having Eleanor home again, just waiting for Daniel to join her now.
DeleteLooks lovely Jo, & as this time of year is extra busy, I think taking a break and starting again in the new year is a good idea. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThe thing with cross stitch is that I have so many bits and pieces all around me when I'm stitching, it's just easier when I'm on my own when I work on it so it's a good idea to wait until after Christmas now before starting on April.
DeleteIt turned out beautifully, Jo. Leaving April until after the festivities sounds like a good plan. :o)
ReplyDeleteI found it a little tiresome having to keep changing colours but I really like the finished effect.
DeleteIt looks beautiful, you must be so patient. I don't suppose you'll have much time to spend on it now you have your lovely girl home again xx
ReplyDeleteI suppose it does take a little patience, I find cross stitch really relaxing though. There's not much time for any sort of crafting just now, I'm so behind with my Christmas preparations but I'm hoping for a little time over Christmas to sit down with my knitting.
DeleteI laughed out loud as I was reading this (and made DH jump in his seat)... read the title December in my reader and then looked at the pic thinking it would be the reindeer and its the fabulously cute little chickie. It's gorgeous, a super finish.
ReplyDeleteGood luck completing the socks.
Ha ha, I'm so far behind, not a reindeer in sight. At this rate I might just finish April in April (if I'm lucky).
DeleteIt's lovely Jo.
ReplyDeleteI'm really pleased with it.
DeleteI spotted a cross stitch book marker in a pound shop the other day I may go and get it to give it a go. Don't know if I have the patience! Yours is so lovely.
ReplyDeleteA small design, such as a book mark, would be a good project to start off with. A good price too in case you find that cross stitch isn't for you. Be careful though, you might just get hooked like I did.
DeleteIt's beautiful. It's a time of year that cries out for crafting but unfortunately time doesn't always allow. X
ReplyDeleteYou're right. I just wish there were more hours in the day but I'm hoping I might find some crafting time over the festive period.
DeleteThat is so pretty, Jo. I love the simple design, but the more you look at it the more detail you see. The birds are great, but so also are the flowers and the butterfly. You'll have an enjoyable time in the new year doing April. I hope you have a lovely time with your family during the Christmas holiday period. Thank you for your kind message on my recent blog post. Our local granddaughter, grandson and daughter came around yesterday and I've started to decorate the Christmas tree that my husband got down from the loft so we had a nice time together with more family time to come.
ReplyDeleteEach month's design is just so lovely. When I started this project, only January has been released but I loved it so much that I decided there and then that I wanted to give it a go, even though I'd only ever completed one cross stitch piece previously. Since then, I've loved each and every design as it's been released and it will build up in to such a beautiful project. It's nice to hear that your Christmas celebrations have begun. Christmas to me means sharing the celebrations with family so it's lovely to hear your daughter and grandchildren have been visiting and that more family are yet to arrive. Enjoy.
DeleteI also love the details in this design, the flowers especially. I've set aside my cross stitch project, too. The light is not so great at the moment even at daytime. I'll hopefully get back to it in the New Year once I've finished my current yarn project.
ReplyDeleteHope you're well. Have a lovely weekend! x
I find it difficult to stitch in poor light, I've bought a small magnifying light which helps but I still find it better in proper daylight, not the dull days we're getting at the moment.
DeleteI have come to a full stop with mine, but I'm not stitching at all. Oh well it will wait for my mojo to come back.
ReplyDeleteThere's no point carrying on if you're not feeling it at the moment, much better to put it to one side until the mood takes you again. I'm knitting more than stitching at the moment but I'll pick it up again once my stitching mojo comes back.
DeleteHow beautiful it looks!xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm really pleased with it. The whole project is starting to build up nicely.
