Photo Medley - June

I can't believe we're nearly at the half way stage in the year, very nearly at the end of June already. Time for this month's round up of photos which haven't yet made it on to the blog.

We've been pulling lots of rhubarb this month and I've discovered this, Crumble Mix. Lazy I know but it's very convenient to have it ready made to just pour over the stewed rhubarb. It makes a lovely crumble.

Here's one of the crumbles destined for my mum and dad, along with a cottage pie, both ready to just pop in the oven. I've been trying to help them out with a bit of cooking while my mum's been poorly. I'm happy to say that she's much better now and is managing to get out and about a bit again.

The chives have gone mad this month flowering away. The bees adore them. Perhaps that's why they've made their nest nearby, there's always plenty of flowers for them in my garden.

A feather on one of our walks. I wonder what sort of bird dropped it.

Some bargain pansies I picked up at the garden centre, they were reduced to half price so I couldn't resist.

My little family of pigs. I bought the first one from Mevagissey when I was on holiday in Cornwall and the family has been added to gradually since then. I've got quite a few animals dotted around my garden.

That's it for another month. I do wish the days and weeks would stop whizzing by so fast.

  2. A good selection of pictures. I use that crumble mix on the rare occasions that I make one. The feather could possibly be a crows. I like the pig family. Flighty xx

    1. I wish I'd discovered ready made crumble mix years ago, it's ideal when I'm in a hurry. I thought the feather could be a crow's too but I'm not very good at these type of identifications.

  7. Hi Jo! I think crumble mix sounds like a wonderful invention. I'm going to have to see if I can buy some over here while berries are in season (and cheap to buy!). Hope you have a good weekend.

    1. I wish I'd known about ready made crumble mix before now, such a time saver. I'm always picking bargain plants or bulbs us, it can save a fortune and it's always nice to have a bit extra colour in the garden.

  9. I shall have to put crumble mix on the shopping list - I am more than happy to use things like that when I have had a busy day! I love your little family of pigs!

    1. It's nice to make things completely from scratch but life gets in the way sometimes so it's good to have the option of cheating once in a while. I've got a bit of a thing for pigs so there was no way I was leaving it in the shop when I saw it in Mevagissey and then the family has been added to over time. I can see the family growing more yet.

  10. Glad to hear you Mum's a lot better. I'm sure your parents are appreciating your home cooking and meals just ready to pop into the oven. I'm always on the look out for bargain bedding plants too. The pansies are still looking good for half price. Your piggies are sweet.

    1. There's so many ready made meals you can buy in the supermarkets these days but I don't think anything beats home cooking, especially when you're poorly. My dad can rustle up a meal, but he's not in the best of health either and it's always nice to have something made for you. Pansies are great plants, they go on flowering for such a long period so that was money well spent.

    1. I must say that I'm very attached to my little pig family, they do make me smile when I look out and see them on the grass. My mum is so much better than she was and is getting better still all the time.

  12. I can't believe we are almost at the end of June already. We'll be mentioning the C word before too long again. I was only thinking about what if any projects I need to be thinking of getting on the go the other day. I almost feel we wish our lives away sometimes. Adam has stone pig in the garden where as I have my gargoyles and dragons.

  13. I took some chives inside, the flowers look perfect on the mantle. I don't have any piglets in the garden, just a marauding dog... Have a great weekend. x

    1. Chives do produce really pretty flowers. I've got the marauding dog as well as the piggies, I won't tell you what he does to the pigs when he's caught short.
