A Sweet Treat

We visited a garden centre yesterday which had a farm shop attached to it. There were some lovely looking produce but the thing which really grabbed my attention was the bakery counter. We couldn't resist and decided to take some goodies home with us.

The fruit meringue is mine, the chocolate cherry bomb is Mick's and the strawberry cheesecake is Eleanor's.

We didn't eat them yesterday so we've got them to look forward to after our roast chicken dinner tonight.

Which of the three would be your choice?

  4. It's good to have a treat like this now and again. (We had quite a few when we were with our family recently)! I would choose the strawberry cheesecake.

    1. A treat like this once in a while does no harm, it's not often we buy these kind of desserts, a real treat.

    1. Mick usually goes for something chocalatey, I like something fruity, especially with strawberries.

    1. Ha ha, I wish I could send you one. Mick said it had cherry right the way through it, it tasted a bit like Black Forest Gateaux.

  13. I think it would be the cherry bomb for me please. I love farm shops we have two on the outskirts of our village and another near Silk Willoughby attached to a garden centre that does a great breakfast too.

    1. This farm shop does breakfast and afternoon tea too, all at a very reasonable price. I think the cherry bomb is a good choice, it looked lovely and gooey.

  15. I'll have a little piece of each, please. I'm guessing there's not even crumbs left, though, is there?

    1. You're wrong. Mick's got a little piece of his chocolate cherry bomb left, he never eats a whole cake in one go, he doesn't have a sweet tooth. I'm sure he'll finish it off tonight though.

  17. Ooh, I'll have a half of the cheesecake please. I can only eat half a piece of anything like that these days. Hubby and I share now, when we are out and about. I love the garden centres in UK with such wonderful plants and usually a cafe. Don't have many of them here and definitely no farm shops. Take care.

    1. Mick usually eats half and saves half for later, he's never had a sweet tooth. I think garden centres here try to make it an experience rather than a visit with their cafes and other sidelines.
