Eleanor's Recordings

Eleanor's singing lessons ceased at Easter 2014 when her singing teacher retired. She was going to look for a new teacher but has been so busy with first GCSEs and now AS levels that she just hasn't had the time. She still loves to sing though.

It's about eighteen months now since she last recorded a song but she made up for it today as she was back in the recording studio and recorded two songs. I'd love for you to listen.

I hope you enjoyed them.

  1. Thank you so much for posting these videos, Jo, I really enjoyed listening to Eleanor singing. She's very talented, and I'm glad that she enjoys singing just for herself. I usually sing in the car - and definitely with no recording equipment anywhere around! xx

    1. Ha ha, I'm the same. People ask where she gets her singing voice from and I always reply that it's definitely not from me.

  3. Brilliant as always. I love the idea of a recording session as a present, especially when it yields such excellent results!

    1. Singing is something she loves so I'm sure it's something she'll continue with. It's a shame that she's stopped her lessons, especially as she was taking the exams too and got to a Grade 6, but it's something she can pick up again at some time in the future.

  9. I've always loved to sing ... but the family are never happy when I am ... my voice is not good at all - but I still do my best.

Eleanors voice is LOVELY and I so enjoyed listening to both recordings.

We are so fortunate to be able to enjoy music, art, books ... may Eleanor always sing so pleasantly because all will enjoy hearing her voice.

Thank you for putting up these videos, and I am applauding her - hope she hears my clapping...

    All the best Jan

    1. What a lovely comment, thank you. I'm no singer either, I don't know where Eleanor gets it from, certainly not from me or Mick. She's always enjoyed singing though so it's good that she's had this opportunity to experience a recording studio.

    1. I think it will be nice to have these recordings for the future. I'm sure she'll continue with her singing in one way or another, she loves her youth theatre group and she sings with them but she'll be moving on from them soon too. I hope she finds some other group to become a member of.

  12. These are great recordings... Eleanor's voice is really 'maturing'. I hope that she'll be able to find another group when she becomes too old for the her theatre group. Does she have plans for uni yet? Maybe there'll be a music theatre society that she can join as a student? Alternatively, has she thought about a soul band? Jx

    1. I think her voice has really matured since her last recording. We're starting to attend uni open days shortly and she's already said that she'll look for some kind of music society to join once she goes. She has friends who are in bands, including her boyfriend who plays guitar, but she just doesn't have the time at the moment with all the studying she's doing. Perhaps something to think about in the future.
