A Batch Of Buns

It's the local gala tomorrow and Eleanor's drama group is having a bun stall to raise some much needed funds. Each year, they stage a show over three or four nights at the Carriageworks Theatre in Leeds, however, the money raised from ticket sales alone doesn't come anywhere near to covering the costs so they need to do lots of fundraising to help.

I thought I'd better get my baking gear out, so Eleanor and I set to work. We've made fifty six buns.

Butterfly Buns.

Chocolate Cornflake Buns.

Chocolate Frosted Buns.

Mick's auntie has dropped off some baking she's done.

Chocolate Caramel Shortbread.

Iced Buns.

Butterfly Buns.

Fingers crossed that they have better weather for the gala than we've got today, and that the stall raises some much needed funds.

    1. Ha ha, very clever. I don't know, I'm not sure if I can make the gala yet so I'm afraid I'm shirking my duties somewhat. At least I've sent some goodies to be sold.

    1. I was very good and didn't even have one. I suppose I should have tested them really, but I'm sure they'll be fine.

  4. All of that looks delicious, Jo! You should be proud of yourself :) Fingers-crossed you sell all of them and make a tidy profit for the theatre group!

    1. It's not a very nice day today, but there's usually a good turnout whatever the weather so I hope they do well.

  5. They all look scrummy, but here in Oz we call them "cup cakes". Will have to ask K, what he "used" to call them, as he has been out here for well over 40 years now. Just watching an old Escape to the Country and they are visiting Hebden Bridge as I write this. Hope the gala goes well and love Mum's comment about bunting. Take care.

    1. They're called all different things here, buns, cupcakes, fairy cakes. I've never visited Hebden Bridge even though we can get a train direct from here. It's on my list of places to visit.

  10. They do look scrummy! I think a butterfly cake with a nice pot of Earl Grey may be just what I need before making tea for my hungry bunch! Hope the gala raises enough for the group. Good luck!

    1. They did really well at the gala. The rain held off and plenty of people were parting with their money, so I'm sure they raised a good amount.

    1. It went very well. The stall raised £200 and the company which one of the volunteers works for is matching this amount, so the funds are raised by £400 in total. A good day's work.
