A Pink Bouquet

I'm not ready for Autumn, though it seems to have hit with a gust, it's been so windy over the weekend. I thought I would hang on to summer just a little bit longer with this lovely pink mixed bunch, £3.00 from the local supermarket.

I've popped them in the vase which I got as a present from Daniel for my birthday at the beginning of September.

He bought it when we visited the craft fair at Elsecar Heritage Centre. Being hand painted, he knew I'd love it, and he was right.

I did my usual prowl of the reduced section a few weeks ago and came home with this mixed bunch for £1.85. Very similar flowers to those included in my vase at the moment, but in a different colour scheme.

My best bargain of the month were these gladioli. They're not a colour I'd ordinarily choose but I couldn't leave them in the shop when they were only 30p, and I quite liked the colour once they were in full bloom.

I just need to come across a few more bargains like that, though I don't do bad really.

  1. Really pretty! Hope that Daniel enjoyed taking a look round York Uni at the weekend. I can't get over how fast the years from GCSE modules to A2 exams seem to go...! Jx

    1. It won't be long until the Chrysanthemums are in the shops now. Mick's uncle grows them and often brings some round for me.

  4. I am always amazed by your fresh flower bargains! We have an embargo on fresh flowers this month as we are saving our pennies, but I'd buy some gladioli for 30p, that's brilliant!

    1. I love the vase. I was surprised when I opened it on my birthday because I hadn't mentioned anything about liking it at the craft fair, Daniel just saw it and thought that I would like it.

    1. It made it all the more special because I hadn't told Daniel what I would like for my birthday, he just saw the vase and made his own choice. I love it.

    1. I challenged myself to have flowers in the house right the way through the year, and I've so far succeeded. It will be interesting at the end of the year to work out how much it's cost me.
