It's Swap Time 2016

If you've joined in with my Twelve Days Of Christmas 2016 swap, then your parcels should be posted off no later than tomorrow.

I've got two swap partners this year. I've wrapped all the gifts and the parcels are being posted out today to Kim from This Happy Homemade Life and Cath from Clicky Needles.

I'm also doing a Twelve Days Of Christmas swap with my blog buddy, Lisa, from Jumble and Jelly blog again this year. I haven't sent her parcel off yet but all the gifts are wrapped and just waiting to go.

Amy from Love Made My Home organised a Christmas Card Swap again this year and I was partnered with Jan from Jan's Ramblings. I'll be posting off a card to her today. I hadn't come across Jan's blog before but taking part in various swaps introduces you to blogs and bloggers than you haven't yet encountered.

The last swap I'm taking part in this year is the #stitchingsanta 2016 swap which is being organised by Sheila from Sewchet blog. This is a knitting/crochet or sewing swap and partners are kept a secret until the parcel is received, so the person I'm sending a parcel to doesn't know that I'm her partner yet and I don't know who's sending me a parcel yet. I took part in it last year too and it was great fun. I'm just putting the finishing touches to this parcel before sending it out.

So I'm quite organised where my swaps are concerned but I haven't done much at all towards our family Christmas. I was the same last year too at this time but it all came together in the end and I'm sure it will again. How about you? Are you organised with your swaps and is Christmas in general coming together as planned?

    1. It is a lot of fun but you do have to be quite organised when you're taking part in more than one swap, especially when there's lots of other things going on at this time of year.

  3. I'm glad i'm not the only one with family presents to buy, like you say, it will all come together in the end.
My 12 days of Christmas exchange has gone off today, it has been ready all but one thing for about 2 weeks but i just couldn't seem to find the time to finish off that one thing until yesterday! I have received mine off my partner, she was super organised, lol.
Thanks for organizing the swap Jo, i really enjoyed putting things together.

    1. I've hardly made a start on family gifts yet, it would help if I knew what to buy. Good news that your parcel has left and that you've received the one from your partner, it's all a waiting game now until you can start unwrapping. You're welcome, I'm pleased you've enjoyed it all so far.

  7. I'm the best organised I've ever been this year, no idea why, things just seem to have happened that way by accident...right place, right time to see something perfect for family members. Cake made, just need to marzipan and ice it. Cards written and awaiting posting.
I've got 2 crafting and 1 book club exchange at the 3 groups I belong to at our community centre which are upcoming in the next couple of weeks - wrapped and ready for that. Ornament exchange was opening day on 1st December but the forum at Needlecraft Haven is having problems so some ladies have not been able to post they have received their parcels. I'll share on the blog what I got and sent when we know all are opened and as it was secret we will find out who sent to who.
    Have a lovely weekend

    1. Wow, I can't believe how organised you are. I've bought my cards so that's one thing, I haven't written them yet though. You're involved in lots of swaps too, I think you do have to be organised with them as you've got to make sure they're posted in time for the cut off dates. I love the secret aspect of a swap, I think it makes it all the more exciting.

  8. Well I know I'm not taking part in the swaps - but I do wish everyone great enjoyment and fun, and I'm sure it will be.

I keep thinking I may start writing my Christmas Cards this weekend ... we shall see!

    Have a lovely weekend

    All the best Jan

  11. Well, being organized and ready to go for the swaps must make you feel really good. I always feel great when I can tick a big task like that off my list. Now you can focus your concentration on family gifts.

I'm on the final stretch for the shawl for my daughter and all the other knits I've done have only to be washed and blocked. I also decided to squeeze in a pair of socks for my mom (in addition to a scarf) as an extra special treat...the Hermione's socks, actually, that I loved from one of your posts. So far I'm only a few inches into the 1st one but they are looking really great - I think this pattern is going to be a keeper...thanks for the inspiration :)

    1. It is quite a large task when you're taking part in a few swaps, lots of things to think about and organise so I'm pleased that most of them are now sorted out. You seem to be well organised where your knitting is concerned. How lucky all the recipients will be on Christmas morning. I haven't made many gifts this year but I've just cast on a new pair of socks for Eleanor, a special request for a plain green pair. They're not for Christmas but I'll enjoy a bit of mindless knitting. I really like the Hermione's Socks pattern so I'm pleased you're giving it a go, I think it knits up really well and isn't hard to follow, you're mum will be really pleased with them, I'm sure.

  12. Looks like great fun! :) This year I joined in with a Secret Santa on the Fountain Pen group I'm in on Facebook (Roughly £10 spend)... I'm still waiting for mine, but my recipient had a package full of ink, notebooks and (of course) some chocolate coins.

  14. I'm still here Jo and just did a catch up read on the posts I've missed. We are having internet problems because of the changeover in our small area from copper to fibre and we've been away to Canberra for a week to see youngest and family. I'd have loved to have seen your Xmas light switch on. Fun! The x-stitch for Eleanor is gorgeous & what a lovely Mum you are. I'm glad I've slowed a bit this year, but will still be sending lots of cards & maybe teeny bits for some people as well. Have a good weekend & take care.

    1. I hope your internet connection is sorted out soon, it's so annoying when you have problems getting online. How lovely that you've had a trip to see your youngest and family, it will have been so nice to see them and catch up with them all. I haven't written my cards yet, just a couple to go with swaps or those which need to be posted abroad, but the majority are still in the box waiting for my attention.

  15. Hiya, I don't know if my comment got through last time - I haven't heard from my swap partner so don't have her address so clearly can't send her parcel! My email is clumsykisses@gmail.com if needed xxx

    1. As I replied on your previous comment, your swap partner pulled out as she hadn't heard anything from you. Unfortunately, there seems to have been some sort of technical issue and emails between yourselves haven't been getting picked up for one reason or another, which is a real shame.

  16. My parcel arrived yesterday, I'm so excited to start opening it! I've hidden it out of sight so I'm not tempted.

Our Christmas preparations are slowly, slowly coming together. There are still lots to do but I'm also hopeful they'll all get done on time. x

    1. You have to be so organised when you've got a few swaps on the go, it can easily get out of hand otherwise. How exciting having gifts to open already, and that will go on right in to the new year with the Twelve Days Of Christmas swap. I've made a start on family shopping now, it's starting to come together.

  19. What fun it must be to send and receive goodies...I'm always a last minute kinda gal so could never do something like this. For once, I actually have decorations up, only because I bought a few new ones so just went for it. Looking forward to your surprises!xxx
