Ripple Update

It's been a while since I've posted any updates on the ripple blanket I'm crocheting for Eleanor so I thought I'd show you where I'm at with it at the moment.

A blanket is a large undertaking so I like to take my time with such a big project. I'm thoroughly enjoying the process of rippling the yarn together and I love how the colours are working out, especially with the interlocking colour pattern.

My favourite colour combinations are the darker shades.

The lighter shades are what does it for Eleanor.

I'm in no hurry to finish this blanket, especially through winter as it's keeping me lovely and warm as I'm working on it.

I don't tell Eleanor that I'm taking my time with it though, she's anxious for it to be finished.

    1. It's the perfect project to be working on through winter. Eleanor chose the colours herself, I was a little unsure at first, but I think they work really well together.

    1. It's very snuggly. I've made it quite large purposely so that Eleanor will be able to snuggle inside it.

    1. I'm just the same, I come away from reading blogs with so many more ideas for future projects. If only there were more than twenty four hours in a day.

    1. I always wanted to make a ripple blanket since I started seeing them on blogs but the one I made for Daniel was a bit of a disappointment as I should have made it a little wider. This one is proving to be a joy to make.

    1. I've never really thought about my tension, though now I come to think of it I suppose my tension in both crochet and knitting is fairly tight.

    1. Thank you. I really enjoy the ripple pattern, it's so repetitive that you can get in to a bit of a rhythm with it, definitely give it a go.

  14. It's looking so gorgeous and I just love pink and green combinations. I was going to take a photo of mine yesterday and the battery went flat on the camera, so hopefully today I will do another post and show mine too. I'm enjoying the rhythm also, but it's very different to yours. Take care.

  15. It really looks beautiful. I happen to be partial to pink and green, so I'll always be enthusiastic about that, but your work is very neat and the interlocking pattern is so intricate. I look forward to seeing more. :)

    1. Thank you. I love the interlocking pattern, it adds a little extra interest to it and doesn't make the stripes look too harsh.

  16. Your blanket is gorgeous, those colours are so pretty together. I had a go at ripple crochet last year while on holiday and really enjoyed it, in fact it is still in the caravan cupboard, maybe this year it will get some more added to it. I found it relaxing sitting in the shade and hooking away to my hearts content.

    1. Thank you. I've only been crocheting a couple of years but you're right, it's really relaxing. I'm enjoying the ripple pattern, it's easy to get in to a rhythm with it and you don't have to concentrate on it too much.

    1. Eleanor loves the other blankets I've made. She's been poorly this week, off school Tuesday and Wednesday, which is unheard of for her so I know she felt bad, and she got all cosied up in crochet. She's eager for her own to be finished.

    1. Thank you. My other blankets have had plenty of use this week, what with colds doing the rounds in our house and the terrible weather. I'm in no rush to finish this ripple.
