Baked and Delicious

I saw this magazine advertised on TV a few weeks ago. It's obviously been very popular as no matter where I looked, I couldn't find it anywhere. I have to admit that one of the reasons for wanting it was the brightly coloured silicone muffin cases which came free with the issue. I've never used silicone bakeware before and fancy trying it out.

I thought I'd missed the boat as a few weeks passed by without me finding the first issue, then last week I popped in to Tesco for my weekly shop and there on the first magazine stand I came to were dozens of copies.

There's some lovely recipes, including these Mediterranean tartlets, I'll definitely have a go at these.

These Bitter chocolate puddings look delicious.

I'm pleased I managed to find issue 1 of the magazine, at 99p it's a bargain, but I don't think I would pay the regular price of £4.99 for future issues.

  1. These things do tend to cost a bit of money after the first offer. Good luck with the baking, lovely colours to those cases.

  4. yummy looking recipes. Just checked to see how many issues there are. 1st Issue 99p, 2nd issue £2.99 then 22 more issues @ £4.99 a grand total of £113.76!!! for the whole collection. A very expensive cook book at the end of it. Think I'll give it a miss. I do love anything to do with cooking though and would buy it if it were only 99p all the time.

  5. Hi Jo, my mouth is watering over those recipes, especially the chocolate pudding. I'm sure those new baking cups will add to the fun - I want some too :-) Good luck with the crochet...since you're a knitter, I'm sure you'll have no trouble picking it up. Have a lovely weekend :-)

  6. I managed to resist this purchase as I have soooo many cookbooks but my mum picked it up for herself so I still managed to read a copy!

  7. Hi Jo!
For some reason I've never come on this blog of yours, I've always gone on your gardening one - now I shall have to visit both!
I've never bought the silicon either, yet fancied trying, so will be interested to hear how you get on.
Both the savoury tarts and the choc puds look really yummy - i shall have to track down the magazine too!
Thank you for your comment, and for the birthday wishes for Bella.I had to laugh when you said about revision - I'm afraid I'm in the same boat as you!!!
Have said "it" all to her, as has her father, so know we are just letting her get on with it really, and trying to make sure she does something!
All I can say is that she has made herself an impressive and colourful revision timetable, and spends lots of time in her room with computer and revision books, but only the Good Lord knows whether the work is being done, as I certainly dont and she gives nothing away!
    What can you do?!!!
Glad someone else fancies making the cake - it is moist and yummy and rich!
Hope you had a productive weekend yourself in the garden - Ive been in the greenhouse all day so it feels - potting on hollyhocks and cornflowers and sowing more veg. seeds.
The honesty must have self seeded - i did scatter the pods a bit in the autumn.

  8. Thanks for commenting, everyone.

Amanda - I hope you managed to find a copy.

Karen - Those sums are frightening.

Gill - I wondered after I created this blog if I'd have been better cramming everything in to one blog, but it's nice to keep the gardening separate from everything else. I'm impressed that Bella has set up a timetable for her revision. Daniel's school has revision classes on most days after school, just for an hour, so I'm insisting that he attends as many of these as he can. At least I know he's doing some revision then. I think all I can do other than that is keep my fingers crossed.
