Playa De Muro 2025

After our holiday to Calas De Mallorca 2025 last month, I didn't think we'd be taking another holiday quite so soon, but we've just returned home from Playa De Muro, another resort in Majorca.

It was a spur of the moment decision really to go away again. We were with the whole family last time but this time it was just the two of us, which was lovely actually as we celebrated out thirty-fifth wedding anniversary while we were there.

We looked at different places but we love Majorca and every resort is so different. We haven't stayed in Playa de Muro before but we really enjoyed it, it has the most beautiful beach. It stretches for six kilometres and has powdery, fine sand.

Our hotel was smaller than some we've stayed in but it was lovely for a quiet getaway. Having less guests means the staff are able to give a more personal service and we were looked after very well. We chose a room with a swim-up pool, it was very nice having our own personal space to relax, and those Balinese beds are very comfy!

Our room was perfect for us, not huge but it had everything we needed. We arrived after the restaurant had closed so sandwiches and fruit was left in our room for our arrival.

We'd just come out of the heatwave we were experiencing at the beginning of July when we flew out. Majorca was still experiencing those high temperatures and we had glorious weather all week, in fact we visited Alcudia market on the Sunday and we saw a digital display outside a pharmacy which recorded the temperature at thirty seven degrees. Majorca was experiencing its own heatwave! The stalls at the market sell everything from leather goods to pottery, clothing to souvenirs etc. I always enjoy looking at the local produce in European markets, the stalls are so colourful.

The market is one of the largest in Majorca and spills out from the squares into the narrow streets of the old town.

It was nice to take a turning away from the throng of people, the market does get very busy.

There's some charming buildings but you don't get the chance to see how pretty they are in the busier areas.

We missed our bus stop on the way back to the hotel and had quite a way to walk but we took in the sights as we strolled, including the canal.

It was too hot to go to the beach during the day but it was nice to stretch our legs there on an evening. There were still plenty of people about and it was still very warm.

The food was very good. Some parts of the meals were cooked to order, there was a wide choice and the produce was fresh and tasty. I expected to put on more weight than I did, there were many scrumptious desserts to try. Just a couple of extra pounds when I got on the scales.

It was our thirty fifth wedding anniversary on the Monday. We never go overboard with celebrations but it was nice to mark the occasion with a cocktail or two. We'd gone all-inclusive and all drinks were part of this package so it would have been rude not to try them.

It was a much cooler morning on our last full day so we headed down to the beach. It was nice to have a bit of a let up from the very high temperatures so that we could spend some time there. The sea looks very choppy here but it was warm and not quite as rough as this photo shows it, and actually, the sea here is quite shallow so it's ideal for young children. We got a couple of hours before the sun broke through once again so we headed back to the hotel and spent the rest of the day cooling down in the pool.

It was a wonderful holiday, it's many years since we've had a proper holiday away on our own, in fact, it was before we had children, over thirty years ago, when we had our last holiday by ourselves. We arrived home to find that another heatwave was just beginning, it's wall to wall sunshine this year.

  1. Glad you had such a great time as a couple, family holidays are great fun, but can be exhausting, when little ones want nana all the time.

  5. How lovely to get-away again, especially as it was your 35th wedding anniversary...many congratulations :)
Playa De Muro looks a very nice resort, I did enjoy your photographs.

The heat here in the UK at the moment is just TOO HOT and many are now facing water restrictions/ hose-pipe bans etc.
I'll have to try harder with my rain dance!

Take care, keep well and stay as cool as you can.

    All the best Jan
