Find Me On Instagram

No more procrastinating, I've finally set up an Instagram account.

Engage in social media was on my 50 Before 50 list but I never set up an account in the two years that I worked my way through this challenge.  Better late than never. I thought that Eleanor could help me set it up but she's away from home staying at her boyfriend's at the moment so Mick and I muddled through the set up process, it was like the blind leading the blind, though Mick says we wasn't even that good. Goodness knows what I'm doing with it but I'll give it a go.

Please come and find me if you use Instagram, you can find me if you search jothroughthekeyhole.

I now need to find out how I find and follow people on there. Please leave me a comment with your Instagram user name and I'll do my best to find you.

    1. I've been saying that I'll start an account for some time, it's taken me quite a while to do so. I've got your message, thank you.

  3. Must admit that I don’t do Instagram. Don’t you need to take your photos on a mobile phone? I like my camera.

    1. I used my iPad to set up the account and take a photo, I think it can be done on either. I'm not quite sure how it all works yet but we'll see how I get on.

  4. It's easy enough if you just follow the directions. It also somehow lets you know who is on there that you might know.

If you get a request from a good looking Collie dog, that's me.

    1. Thank you. It seems more instant than writing a blog post, I'll have to be more spontaneous I think.

    1. I shall look for you on there. It will be nice to be able to connect with those people who read here who don't have blogs themselves.

  9. Congratulations!!!

IG can be enjoyable. I set a one up, a year ago. Got too engaged there, I fear. Since blogging is my real love, I didn't have time for doing both.

But there are so many delightful IG's to visit! It can be wonderful.

    Enjoy!

Just don't let it becomes a chore.

    1. I can see how it can become addictive but I think it's like most things in life, you have to get the balance right.

  13. Well done! I don't use Instagram (or facebook), though I've been told that lots of people in the quilting community use it to show off their makes, quiltalongs, challenges, etc. I'm actually a tad scared of it & am not very tech savvy. Think I'll just stick with my blog. Have fun & take care.

    1. I feel exactly the same but, as you say, there's a big crafting community on there and that's the main reason I wanted to set up an account. I've managed to muddle my way through so far.

  15. I'm lovemademyhome and I look forward to seeing you there! Off to follow you now. To follow me or anyone else all you need to do is click on my name and then follow and then the posts will appear, but I expect someone has already told you this or you worked it out, it is very easy and very friendly!

  17. Good luck with IG, not something I bother with.
Hope you will still keep blogging. Last year I noticed a lot of lovely bloggers moving to Instagram and giving up on their blogs.

    1. I hope I won't lose my enthusiasm for blogging, it's something I've been doing for a long time now and the posts are lovely to look back on as the years pass, I'm not sure if it will be the same with Instagram.

  18. I’ll have a look for you and follow. I have an Instagram account but it has never really grabbed me. Blogs are so much more personal imho.

    1. Thank you. I definitely think you connect more with blogs, Instagram is more of a spontaneous thing.

  19. My IG account is jodiebodiecrochets but my main focus is the Lupey Loops blog. I've followed friends to IG but am not into the daily posting of every little thing. I am gettingv fed up with IG spam and the bot culture there. The blogosphere is much nicer so zi hoe you will keep your blog going Jo.

    1. I have every intention of keeping my blog going at the moment, I love the friendships which are built up through blogging, but I must admit that I'm enjoying Instagram so far too. I haven't been doing it long yet so we'll see how it goes.
