Eleanor's still got nearly five weeks before she goes back to university but I'm already organising things for when she's home again. She breaks up for Christmas later this year than she has done in previous years but she'll be home just in time to see Northern Ballet's The Nutcracker before it ends its run in Leeds.
It's many years since I've been to see a ballet and it's something Eleanor's never seen before so we're both really looking forward to it and it will get us in the spirit in the run up to Christmas.
Have you got anything in the diary yet for the time leading up to Christmas?
I've never been to the ballet, not something i'm sure i would like but my middle daughter, Joanne loves it, she's been several times.
ReplyDeleteI love to visit the Christmas markets and was thinking the other day that I need to look around and book something up. Christmas will come around much much quicker than we think!
Eleanor's never been to the ballet before so it will be interesting to see what she thinks of it. We're thinking of making a day of it and going to the Christmas market first and perhaps do a bit of Christmas shopping. It will be a nice day out.
DeleteWe have booked to go to Effteling in Holland for Christmas which we are quite excited about.
ReplyDeleteI bet that will be lovely. It'll be magical at Christmas time.
DeleteNot here, but this looks delightful!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd it's very good, to get tickets early. I'm sure it is popular.
Lots of the tickets have already sold so I'm glad we booked when we did.
DeleteNot yet, but I can tell you I am really looking forward to Christmas in my OWN house and in a pre-revolution town. The decorations will be so pretty.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds lovely. I'm sure you'll share it with us on your blog.
DeleteI love the ballet, not got anything planned that far ahead yet!
ReplyDeleteIt's a long time since I've been to the ballet so I'm really looking forward to it. I haven't got anything else planned around Christmas time yet but I'm glad I've got this booked as it's selling out fast.
DeleteI would love to go to a real live Ballet one day.I do have so much crochet buzzing around in my head.Started thinking about Christmas Presents but not actually started anything yet.I am making teeny tiny solid granny sqares for another blanket, started another dog blanket for Humphrey.Oh yes and Amelies mum asked me to make a lil hat for her.She loved the blanket.xxx Cuddles for Archie.xx
ReplyDeleteYou're going to be very busy in the run up to Christmas with all that crocheting. I made everyone socks last year so I'm giving myself a Christmas off, no handmade gifts this year.
DeleteThat will be lovely for you both :)
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to have something special
to look forward to.
We have no plans as yet.
Hope your foot is much better x
I'm hoping to be all ready for Christmas by the time Eleanor comes home from university so this will be the beginning of our Christmas countdown, I'm really looking forward to it. I'm still struggling a bit with my toe but I'm sure it'll soon be on the mend.
DeleteYou'll love it! Great to have something exciting to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good feeling to have something to look forward to in the diary already. It will be a lovely day out.
DeleteWhat a lovely special outing for you both, I have never been to the ballet, but something to really look forward and enjoying a day exploring together. I think ours will be very strange this year as we shall be on our own with both Daniel and Rebecca being in the UK xcx
ReplyDeleteThat will be strange having Christmas on your own. At the moment we're not sure whether Daniel will be home for Christmas this year as they really want to spend a couple of weeks with her family this year in America but Daniel's not sure if he can get the time off work or not.
DeleteI need to see if those ROCKETTES are ever coming back to the midwest. Ive yet to see the show and would love to go!
ReplyDeleteI think seeing a show around Christmas time is quite magical. I used to go to the pantomime when I was young and also took my kids when they were young too. That's quite a traditional thing to do in the UK.
DeleteI enjoy ballet, I'm sure you'll both have a ball, this does look lovely. Ahhhhhh you mentioned Christmas!!! I sort it all a week or so before! xxxx
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas and that includes the planning and preparations so I do start thinking about it in advance, though in reality I always seem to be at the last push.
DeleteA ballet at Christmas … magical, wonderful and so lovely.
ReplyDeleteYou are both going to enjoy it and what a lovely outing to look forward to.
All the best Jan
I think we'll both enjoy it, especially if we make a day of it as I intend.
DeleteSeeing the Nutcracker is one of our traditions that we rarely miss. It feels like autumn here already -- Christmas will be here before we know it. P x
ReplyDeleteThis year, like many other recent years, has flown by. Christmas seems to arrive so quickly after the schools go back after summer.
DeleteThis is lovely!! I love a ballet - my mum used to take me all the time to the Durban Playhouse for all the shows... I do miss that - and often wish my children could have that same experience! You both will love it 🌼
ReplyDeleteMy mum used to take me to the ballet too, though we never saw The Nutcracker so I'm really looking forward to this.
DeleteA nice treat to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteSomeone mentioned Strictly Come Dancing is about to start next month and that always means Christmas will be upon me before I know it watching that each week.
I think Christmas comes round so fast once the kids go back to school. It will be nice to have something to look forward to during the countdown.
DeleteWhata fun thing to have pencilled into your diary. I'm sure you'll both love seeing this.
ReplyDeleteNothing sorted here as yet, although we did have a very interesting conversation about Christmas this morning. Wasn't expecting that at 8am this morning!
Lisa x
I'm really looking forward to it. I'm sure all the Christmas paraphernalia will be filling the shelves very soon now that we're into September, it gets earlier every year.
