Daniel graduated from The University of York today with a 2:1 in Physics with Astrophysics.
This is Central Hall where the ceremony took place. Everything was so well organised, we were really impressed.
There were lots of students graduating today, Daniel's ceremony comprised both physics and chemistry students.
After the ceremony we were invited to a champagne reception in the physics department. I don't think Daniel's taste buds are sophisticated enough for champagne, three years of being a student has probably wrecked them forever.
Afterwards, we all went out for a meal to celebrate. It's been a wonderful day and we're all so very proud of Daniel.
What a wonderful day! You must have been bursting with pride! Love the photos of Daniel, he looks great in his cap and gown and the look on his face in that last one is priceless!
ReplyDeleteDo we get to see you all in your posh togs as well?!
Lisa x
We certainly were, it was a fabulous day. I must admit that my eyes filled up with tears a little when I first caught sight of him in his cap and gown. Hmmm, not sure the blog is ready to see me, post togs or not.
DeleteCongratulations from one York Uni person to another!
ReplyDeleteThank you. The alumni community of the university were mentioned many times yesterday.
DeleteCongratulations on a lovely result, glad you have a nice day xx
ReplyDeleteThank you. It was a wonderful day and a brilliant occasion.
DeleteCongratulations Daniel!! That is fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you. We think so, we're very proud of him.
DeleteCongratulations! Wishing your son lots of wonderful and happy times in his chosen career.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's all about getting a job now, he and most of his friends are finding it rather difficult.
DeleteCongratulations Daniel. I'm sure the whole family are so proud and now onto a great career. You have two very brainy children Jo. Well done on your parenting skills. Wish Eleanor a Happy Birthday from us for tomorrow. Have a lovely end of week and take care.
ReplyDeleteThank you, we are. I'm not sure my parenting skills have anything to do with Daniel's success, I don't know the first thing about Physics. I can't even claim that it was my insistence on good attendance at school which set them on the right path as both of them were always happy to go to school. Thank you, Eleanor's party is all planned, another lovely occasion to enjoy.
DeleteYou deserve to be proud of Daniel, Jo. What a clever young man. Many congratulations to him!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I was bursting with pride watching him walk across the stage and collect his certificate.
DeleteCongratulations to Daniel and the parents who played their part.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I think the praise should definitely go to Daniel, he's done all the hard work, and it certainly took hard work, not an easy subject.
DeleteA wonderful day to remember, well done Daniel.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm sure it's a day we'll all remember.
DeleteCongratulations to Daniel! He looks so proud and handsome in his cap and gown. You must be so very proud. What's next for him?
ReplyDeleteThank you. We're all extremely proud of him. He'd been considering taking a masters but he's decided against it, I think he's had enough of studying to be honest. He's looking for a job now, though they're not easy to come by these days, it's a very competitive world out there.
DeleteCongratulations to him - you must be feeling very proud!
ReplyDeleteThank you, we certainly are. He's worked very hard for three years and we're so very proud of him.
DeleteYou must be very proud of him Jo. Well done to him.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I was fit to burst yesterday, especially when I first saw him in his gown. We're all very proud of him.
DeleteYou have every right to be proud parents. Well done Daniel.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It was such a lovely occasion, very ceremonial. A fitting end to his studies.
DeleteCongratulations Daniel. It's a wonderful experience isn't it Jo to see your children graduate? x
ReplyDeleteThank you. It is, especially when you haven't been through anything like this yourself. You just want the best for your children and their achievements make you very proud.
DeleteCongratulations, all the hard work rewarded. Proud moments to revel in for a day or two...
ReplyDeleteThank you. There's graduation ceremonies taking place at the university today and tomorrow too so some of his friends, who took different subjects and left York after term ended, are returning for those so I think he'll be partying all week.
DeleteWow congratulations, the subject sounds complicated! Glad you had a marvelous day celebrating xcx
ReplyDeleteThank you. I don't have the first clue about Physics, it all sounds very complicated to me.
DeleteWell done to Daniel, you must be so proud of him. It'll be interesting to see what the future holds for him. Flighty xx
ReplyDeleteThank you. We're very proud of him. He hasn't had much luck finding a job so far, it's a bit of a catch 22 situation as they seem to want experience as well as a degree but unless someone gives him a job he can't gain any experience. We're hoping he finds something soon.
DeleteCongratulations to Daniel!! You must be so proud of him - I remember when Stuart graduated I thought I would burst with pride!
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's a wonderful feeling seeing your children do well, isn't it? We're all extremely proud of him.

ReplyDeleteThank you. I don't think champagne's for him somehow.
DeleteCongratualtions to Daniel! That last photo is priceless :), I hope you drank it for him?
ReplyDeleteThank you. He's a student (or was), he isn't going to let alcohol go to waste, like it or not!
DeleteMany congratulations to Daniel.

Good luck in the job hunt too.

ReplyDeleteThank you, we're very proud of him. He's worked extremely hard and his efforts have paid off.

ReplyDeleteThank you. Being a university student for the last three years, he's definitely not used to the finer things in life.
