Jesus Christ Superstar

Thank you to everyone who left good wishes for Mick and I on my last post on the occasion of our Silver Wedding Anniversary. We had a lovely day and I was thoroughly spoilt. Mick had a beautiful bouquet of red roses delivered to me first thing in the morning.

He also bought me a gorgeous angel pendant, made from two hearts which join together to make the angel form with a halo and diamond encrusted wings, really unusual and I love it. He knows I don't wear silver so it's in gold, and to top it all off he bought me my favourite chocolates. I bought Mick a watch and we got lots of cards and gifts off family and friends.

We did end up going to the Dales afterall, it was quite dull for most of the day but the sun did put in an appearance every so often. We didn't get home until quite late, had a quick change of clothes and then headed out to a restaurant for a meal. We spent a lovely day together.

On Monday evening, the day before our anniversary, Eleanor, Mick and I went to see another show at Leeds Grand Theatre, this time it was Jesus Christ Superstar.

It was the opening night and there were lots of spare seats in the theatre so we had our tickets upgraded which was a nice surprise.

I hope the rest of the shows are sell outs as it was a fabulous show and they deserve to be playing to a packed theatre.

  3. Good to see that you enjoyed yourselves. I'm the opposite to you in that I prefer silver to gold. Flighty xx

    1. We had a lovely time together. I do like silver, it's just that my wedding, engagement and eternity rings are gold so it looks a bit odd if I wear silver with them.

  5. Clearly you guys know how to celebrate in style. That's a show I've never seen, is it touring?

    1. We're not ones for parties so it seemed right to celebrate on our own. Jesus Christ Superstar is touring, I can thoroughly recommend it if it's coming anywhere near you.

    1. Jesus Christ Superstar came to the Leeds Arena not long ago, I wish we'd seen it there now as I'm sure it would be fantastic in an arena setting. I'm thrilled with my gift from Mick, it really is beautiful, and he chose it all on his own.

  11. So glad you had a great day and got up into the Dales, even if it was not sunny. We've not been to a musical in years, but should remedy that some time this year if we find something we'd like to see. I also fancy going to the zoo and aquarium, places I've not been to since the kids were small, but actually I've never been to an aquarium.(oh dear). Have a good weekend and take care.

    1. We both love the Dales so I'm pleased we got to spend our special day together there. We all love musicals so going to the theatre is something we do on a regular basis. We're lucky that we get some good ones coming to Leeds.

    1. I didn't expect to have roses delivered, I was thrilled, they're absolutely beautiful. It's a shame that they'll eventually die but I'm enjoying them while they last.

  13. It sounds like you celebrated in style, Jo and those roses are lovely. I am glad you enjoyed your trip to the theatre, that sounds like a nice treat. Although my engagement and wedding rings are gold, I wear silver as well. It depends on what clothes I'm wearing. xx

    1. We had a lovely time, both on our anniversary and at the theatre the night before. I suppose many people have gold rings yet wear silver jewellery, I never really notice but it just doesn't seem to look right when I do it myself so I stick to gold.

  14. Your roses look beautiful. JCS is such a good show, we went to see it years ago in London and I was blown away by it.

    1. My roses are still going strong, they're absolutely beautiful. We're lucky that we get some great shows in Leeds, but I don't think you can match the atmosphere of seeing them in London.
