Thank you to everyone who entered my giveaway to win a copy of Emma Hardy's My First Sewing Machine Book.
A winner has been drawn at random and I'm pleased to announce that Alison from Life At Sylvan House is the lucky winner. Can you please let me have your address so that I can get the book posted out to you.
My own learning to sew plans have been put on hold until after the new year. Daniel came home from university on Friday so the house is full once again and it's very busy in the run up to Christmas. I still haven't finished my gift knitting for Christmas so I shall be concentrating on getting that done in amongst the rest of the chaos this week. At least we trimmed up last week so we're ahead on one thing this year, I've been known to be putting up the tree on Christmas Eve before now.
Oh that's brilliant, thanks so much Jo! That's cheered me up no end as we're sitting in the dark here! No power since this morning as the electricity cable from our house to the mains has bust. Likely to be a tree root that caused it. I will email you my address and thanks again! :-) xx
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. I'm sorry to hear that you're sat in the dark, I hope you get the electricity supply sorted out soon, what an inconvenience.
DeleteYeay! Well done Alison! Have a good time with the book!
ReplyDeleteI think Alison intends to pass the book on to her daughter, I'm sure there'll be lots of lovely projects which catch her eye. It's wonderful to see the younger generation involved in crafts.
DeleteWell done Alison! I hope that you have a lovely time with all your Christmas plans and a house full of family Jo! Jx
ReplyDeleteThank you. My mum and dad are coming round on Christmas Day but it's nice having Daniel home for the holidays to spoil a little.
DeleteWe must of both decided to do our Xmas trees before we usually do, as I quite often put mine up in the last week. I do hope Alison is pleased with her book and gets a lot of "sewing" enjoyment from it. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI usually try to get my tree up around the second weekend in December but it doesn't always happen, I was on time this year though.
DeleteCongratulations to Alison! :o)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure her daughter will get lots of use out of the book.
DeleteCongratulations to Alison and how lovely of you Jo!! xx
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely book, I'm sure Alison's daughter will enjoy it.
DeleteCongrats to Alison! Hope the Christmas gift knitting goes well......ever year I have great intentions to start early....but every year Im still finishing off on Christmas eve.....oh well!
ReplyDeleteI'm exactly the same. I'm such a slow knitter that it doesn't really matter when I start, I'm always finishing up on Christmas Eve.
DeleteWell done Alison. I hope you are no longer sitting in the dark and crafting by candle light. It is a lovely book with lots of lovely things to make.
ReplyDeleteMitzi
It doesn't bear thinking about, does it? I'm really pleased with the book, I'm hoping to make lots of things from it in the new year.
DeleteIt's lovely to get the tree up. Ours is up too.
ReplyDeleteI like seeing all the familiar ornaments which we haven't set eyes on since last year.
DeleteWell done Alison, happy sewing! Flighty xx
ReplyDeleteI think the book is being given to Alison's daughter, I'm sure there'll be many projects from the book being made.
DeleteCongrats to Alison! Have fun with the kids and holiday prep, Jo.
ReplyDeleteI'll be glad when all the prep is over and we can all sit back and enjoy it all. Not long to go now.
