It's Prom Time

It's Eleanor's school prom tonight. I don't want to think how excited all the Year 11 students will be at school today, I doubt they'll get much work done.

Eleanor's all prepared.

She went for a French manicure yesterday.

Sparkly hair accessories.

Sparkly jewellery.

Sparkly bag.

Sparkly shoes.

Would you like a peek at her dress? Go on then, I'll unzip the bag a little.

Sparkly dress.

Even more sparkles.

Come back tomorrow and I'll show you how it all looked together.

  1. Hope Eleanor has a great night and let her know that I'm looking forward to seeing it all put together. I'll admit that she'll probably sparkle like the stars in the sky. Take care.

    1. I think she will be sparkling, and they'll definitely see her coming in her lime green dress.

  2. How wonderfully exciting! I hope she had the best time and I'd love to see the photos, a girl can never have too much sparkle, in my opinion!

    1. She's been looking forward to tonight all year. There's an after prom party at her friend's house that she's going to too and then she's sleeping over (if they make it to bed). I wasn't too happy as her GCSE's start on Monday, what a stupid time to arrange a prom, but what can you do.

  3. Thank you for a peek at Eleanor's prom dress. It's a lovely green and reminds me of the colour of the new leaves that we're seeing on the late Spring trees. She will sparkle with those pretty accessories, too. So exciting and I wish her a great evening and happy memories of it.

    1. The dress is a very bright green, she won't get lost. She's so excited about tonight so I hope the prom lives up to her expectations.

  4. Oh my she is going to be full of bling this evening. It's seems a long time ago now since my older three had their proms. Number one just wore a shirt and tie number two had the full tux and my daughter had a beautiful black boddice with big white netted number and very high healed shoes that she did manage to wear all night.

    1. Daniel didn't go to his prom, it wasn't his thing. Eleanor's more than making up for that though.

    1. We never had proms when I was at school, and Daniel didn't go to his, so it's all new to me. I'm sure they'll all have a fabulous time.

    1. What a shame that David didn't have a prom, perhaps they could have got together with a girls school and had a joint one. I've taken lots of photos, I've just got to get them on to the computer now.

  11. Wow, she's going to be sparkling the night away! Ah, the prom. I didn't know you had proms there. I remember both of my proms well. I hope Eleanor has a magical night.

    1. Definitely. Proms are quite a new thing here, we didn't have them when we were at school. It's another of those things, like Halloween, which has made it's way here from America. Year books are another new thing here, I'm looking forward to seeing Eleanor's which she'll get in a week or two.

    1. Photos to come. She stayed at her friends last night after the after prom party and she's not home yet. I don't expect they'll have gone to bed until the early hours.

  13. Can't wait to see the photos. Edens prom isn't until 26th June. I think it's a bit silly to have it the weekend before exams but there you are. Maybe it's better to get it out the way rather than them being excited and planning it all over them. I must admit I'm not really into the prom/yearbook/leavers top thing! I just left school and started work! I'm such a killjoy!
I've been told our Mini bus is going to be covered in flowers and "stuff" to transport her circle of friends there. It'll need to be hovered out first!! Lol

    1. I can't understand why the school would organise the prom for this weekend, they've stressed how important the exams are, how they need to spend their time revising and how they need to be bright eyed and bushy tailed for the exams and then they have the prom the weekend before the exams start. I don't think proms are such a great idea anyway, there's so much peer pressure surrounding it, who's getting what and who's doing what. It's cost a fair bit too. You're lucky to have a mini bus to use, we ended up forking out for a limo, and it wasn't just to get there, they got it to bring them home too, more expense. Eleanor has appreciated it all though and I'm sure she'll have had a fantastic time and have memories which will last a lifetime.
