I've seen bees out and about on their business and lambs gamboling in the fields. What signs of spring have you seen?
Catkins, Forsythia. My bees bringing lots of pollen home. hurrah for Spring

It must be lovely to see your bees out and about and busy working away. There should be plenty of pollen about for them this year, lots of things are blooming.
DeleteA few bees, a few butterflies & some sunshine. Oh & the pheasant seems to be stalking the lane not the field. Your flowers look lovely.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful to see everything waking up again ready for another year. The house where I grew up used to back on to a farmer's field and we'd often get pheasants coming through the hedge in to our garden.
DeleteIt feels almost like mid summer today! I've heard lots of lawn mowers and I can smell newly cut grass, I also heard the sound of bat on ball in the garden (as opposed to in the sitting room!)
ReplyDeleteMick gave our grass its first cut of the year on Sunday, it seems awfully early, but it was ready for it. The sound of children playing out, that's what spring's all about after the long winter being cooped up indoors.
DeleteTwitterpating is happening in our garden with lots of activity from Mable & Earl our blackbirds who have nested in our honeysuckle for the last four years. Our first Ladybug, butterflies and bees.
ReplyDeleteThe birdies are definitely seeking out nesting places. I haven't seen a ladybird yet, there's usually loads of them in my border.

ReplyDeleteIt does seem that spring really is now here! Fingers-crossed we have seen the last of all of the rain and storms. According to the BBC, our jet stream has now moved back to where it should be!
We also saw a lot of butterflies - brimstones, peacocks and 4(!) commas. As well as lovely, chubby bumble bees.

I'm hoping that this weather is here to stay. I know we've had the storms, but we haven't been affected badly here so I don't think it feels as though we've really ever got going with winter this year. I saw the biggest bumble bee on Saturday, it was huge. I wondered whether it could be a queen, I don't know how to tell.

They're so pretty. I really need to get some more for the garden, they don't seem to be bulking up at all.
DeletePlanted out lots of primroses in pots this afternoon and the boys have been playing outside on their bikes until 6pm for the last five days. They're sleeping like tops!
ReplyDeleteI love native primroses, I don't think they come any prettier than those. I remember playing out as a child until the dark came, especially in summer, it seemed we were out really late at night.
DeleteOh dear, no signs of spring here (giggle), just having a bit of an Indian summer, as it is still quite warm for mid March. Your bulbs and early flowers are certainly putting on a show and the butterflies are lovely. We hardly ever see pretty butterflies, though I've noticed a few dragonflies here. Take care.

DeleteOur daffies and other bulbs are beginning to open and we've had some decent sunshine. I'm hoping that this really is spring and that winter doesn't decide to come back for another blast.
ReplyDeleteI don't think winter's been too bad here this year, we've got off very lightly compared to the rest of the country. The daffodils in the garden are starting to open now, but the ones I've planted in containers still have a way to go, something to look forward to though.
DeleteJust beautiful, Jo. Everything is greening up and starting to bloom by you. I just had my first daffodil bloom yesterday. I only have one other with a bud on it, so this feels like a very big deal. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful seeing everything coming back to life. My tete a tetes are blooming now but not the big daffodils I planted in a container, they've a way to go yet, even though the daffodils in the ground are now flowering.

ReplyDeleteThe iris's were the first bulbs to flower, they're past their best now but have been beautiful. This variety is Gordon, such a gorgeous velvety look about them.
