I've finally finished the Humanity fingerless mitts which I started a while ago for Eleanor.
They're lovely and long in the arm so they should keep her snuggly warm in this cold weather we're having, though I must say that I prefer my gloves or mittens to cover my fingers, but Eleanor's very happy with these.
I used Debbie Bliss Rialto Aran which is 100% extra fine merino, and lovely and soft.
I don't have any knitting on the go now, and just my One A Day blanket on my crochet hook, so I need to start a couple more projects to keep me going. I've been wanting to have a go at a ripple blanket for a while so I may start one, but I need to buy some yarn for it yet, and it's been a while since I've knit any socks, so that may be my next knitting project. I've got plenty of sock wool in my stash.
These are beautiful. xx
ReplyDeleteThank you. Eleanor's pleased with them, which makes me happy.
Deletehello jo,
ReplyDeletebeautiful handwarmers......love the colour and the pattern.
have a nice day,
regina
Thank you. I'm pleased with the cable pattern, it's only the second time that I've done cable.
DeleteWow, LOVE those! I bet they feel lovely on too x
ReplyDeleteThey're so soft and sort of hug your hand, they do feel nice.
DeleteThey're gorgeous, they look so warm (very important right now), but so pretty too. I've never knitted socks so will be watching with interest :) xx
ReplyDeleteThey should keep Eleanors arms warm as they're quite long. Socks aren't as scary as they sound, I enjoy knitting them and they keep your feet lovely and toasty.
DeleteThose are really lovely Jo - the pattern and the colour. Who would have thought we would still be having such cold weather when it's almost April. We've had snow flurries on and off all day again.
ReplyDeleteThank you. We're having snow flurries today too. I'm thoroughly fed up of the weather now, it's just so cold.
DeleteThey are fab Jo! you have made a lovely job of them and I bet Eleanor loves them.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I think Eleanor is the only one of her friends who has a mum who knits. I get lots of compliments from them about my knitting.
DeleteBeautiful gloves Jo! Absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Eleanor's started wearing them and she says they're lovely and warm.
DeleteSuch a lovely dusky colour. Who would think we would still need these in March and April!
ReplyDeleteI think a shopping trip is due for more yarn, I love the look of ripple blankets.

I love the colour. I bought this yarn a year or two ago and used some of it for some other fingerless mitts last year. I'm just looking for the cheapest place to buy yarn from. There's places where it's quite cheap online, but the postage ends up bumping the price up.
DeleteLovely colour and pattern. Would they be good for people who suffer with chillblains?
ReplyDeleteI expect they would be good for people who suffer with chillblains. Eleanor likes her fingers to be free so that she can use her gadgets, phone, iPod etc.
DeleteLovely practical mittens so it's not surprising that Eleanor loves them and her friends admire them. A pretty colour, too.
ReplyDeleteThank you. They're getting plenty of use in this chilly weather.
DeleteThey are really pretty - I bet Eleanor loves them! Have a good Easter. Jx
ReplyDeleteEleanor's very grateful for them at the moment with all this cold weather around, they're keeping her nice and warm. Thank you, hope you have a good Easter too.
DeleteThey're lovely Jo, and what a beautiful colour! Lucky Eleanor :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. I like the colour too, quite unusual.
DeleteThey are absolutely gorgeous. So simple and stunning. Gorgeous colour yarn and the pattern is really nice. x
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm pleased with how they've turned out, especially as it's only my second time doing cable and my first time doing a provisional cast on.
DeleteJo would it be okay if I had your address? I'd like to send you some American goodies :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a most amazing Easter! Have a blessed day my friend xx
We've had a lovely Easter weekend so far, I hope you have too. I'll drop you an email shortly.
