...Shepherd's Delight or Sailor's Delight?
What do you say, Shepherd's or Sailor's?
We have a difference of opinion in our house.
I've always said Shepherd's Delight.
There was a frost this morning after last night's red sky, but the sun is shining now and it's a beautiful, crisp day.
Ialways say 'The shepards hut is on fire ' ...love Jan xx
ReplyDeleteI like this one! I bet everyone either chuckles or groans when you say it!
DeleteLike you I've always said 'Shepherd's Delight'. It's been a cold and overcast here today. Flighty xx
ReplyDeleteDon't you know Morecambe and Wise? Red sky at night..... means the bank is on fire!
ReplyDeleteShepherd's Delight at our house. The sky is just beautiful on your photos Jo. We've had fog for the last 2 days, and I actually can't remember the last time I saw the sun!
ReplyDeleteWe've always said "shepherd's" like you. Lovely photos - and I love the last comment!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you Jo!

Shepherds delight here in Worcester too! Jx
ReplyDeleteDefinitely shepherds delight! Maybe its a Yorkshire or northern thing?
ReplyDeleteI say shepherd's delight and I'm a southerner. I don't really understand that saying to be honest, but I do like your photo of that beautiful sunset.

Shepherds delight in this house too xx
ReplyDeleteWe say "shepherd's delight" here. But then my mum was a farmer's daughter so that might be why.
ReplyDeleteDespite living on the coast, it was always shepherds delight. But as Anne says, my fathers family were farmers so that might affect it. I never heard any of the sailors at the harbour where I worked use sailors delight either though... x
ReplyDeleteI'm from the south and hubby's a Yorkshire man, we both say shepherd's delight :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Shepherd's in our house.

Thanks for all your comments. I think it must be Sailor's in America and Shepherd's in England. I don't know why we have a mixture of the two in our house then, we don't have any American blood in our veins.
