Sister

The book I'm reading this month is Sister by Rosamund Lupton. It's a psychological thriller and quite different from the books I usually read, but I'm really enjoying it. It's definitely a page turner, I can't wait to find out what happens next.

I finished The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith. It took a while for me to get in to this, but once I did, I really enjoyed it. The second book from this series in in my reading pile and I'm looking forward to reading it.

  1. Hi Jo,
Ooh I got Sister for Christmas and read it in about two days flat! I couldn't put it down, it was so good. I'm reading The Secret Life Of Bees at the moment, I've seen the film which was really good but you get much more detail in the book. Thank you for your lovely comment regarding the Sunshine Award, it was most appreciated! Lots of love xxx

  2. I read that book a few weeks ago and loved it - I lent it to my friend and she hated it - you can't win 'em all. I have just started reading Alexander McCall Smiths book and really enjoy them - they are a gentle and charming read. At the moment I am reading La's Orchestra Saves the World by him - it is really good about the 2nd world war. I think you'll enjoy it.

  5. Thank you for all your comments.

Emma - I'm looking out for The Secret Life of Bees. I much prefer reading a book before I see a film, as you say, a book usually contains so much more than a film.

Elaine - It's funny how people have such different tastes. I'm enjoying reading Alexander McCall Smith, they're easy books to read.

Jan - Definitely keep an eye out for Sister, I really enjoyed it. I've never read Gone With The Wind, but I love the film, I have it on DVD.

Lisa - There were questions in the back of the book to aid a discussion at book clubs, I thought that was a really good idea.
