It didn't take me long to finish these socks which I started back in March. These are for my dad for Christmas. I know I'm starting early but there's a few presents which I want to make this year and as I'm not the quickest knitter in the world, I don't want to be at the last minute.
These were made with Regia World Circus Color which I've really enjoyed using. The colour is great for my Dad as he wears a lot of browns. I really must put some sock blockers on my Christmas list. I see gorgeous pictures of socks on other blogs and they look really professional on their blockers.
Hi, I've just been doing a blog hop and landed here. I must say that your socks look really professional and are a great colour. Good luck with the granny blanket.

great socks!!! Also a very good idea to start your pressie making now. I will try to follow your example xx
ReplyDeleteReally like the socks Jo. It's great to receive gifts that are made because you know that person put a lot of time and love into making it.
ReplyDeleteHey those look great! I have not made socks yet, I have a few knitted items on the go at the minute, I need to get some more finished things on my blog.
ReplyDeleteHi Jo,
ReplyDeleteThose sock are brilliant, I love the colours. Socks look really difficult to me, don't think I could tackle them. I know it's scary mentioning the C word but it amazing how quick it creeps up on you.
I am trying to do at least one granny square a day too, I think I might forget how to do if I don't!
Have a good week.
I'm barely there with knitting my scarf the thought of making socks seems far away!!

Thanks for all your comments, everyone.
ReplyDeleteMum - Thank you for visiting. I chose the colour as my dad wears a lot of brown, so they should go with most things.
Bluebell - Socks look much harder than they actually are, give them a go, I'm sure you'll surprise yourself.
Love the socks! (I love all knitted socks, they're my favorite knitting project too) If anyone fancies a go I have a tutorial on my knitting blog that may help.

Thanks for visiting, Mrs Tightwad. I was inspired to knit socks after seeing all the gorgous projects on people's blogs, and I love knitting them now.
ReplyDeletethe socks look brilliant, wish I could have the patience to knit a pair of socks. I know what you mean about crochet then wanting to go back to knitting. Amanda x
ReplyDeleteI love knitting socks, Amanda. I started off with a really easy pattern, but I'm having a go at some patterned ones now. I keep alternating my crochet with knitting to keep everything interesting.
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit of a compulsive sock knitter so I'm glad to see so many on your blog! I think I may have made some for my Dad in a very similar colourway to these; I wonder if they're designed with Dads in mind? :-) xx
ReplyDeleteI've had a bit of a break from knitting socks but I'm back to it again now, just in time for the good weather (hopefully) ha ha. This colourway must definitely be designed with dads in mind.
