Old Films

First of all I'd like to thank everyone for all the lovely messages on my last post, they really cheered me up at a sad time. Alzheimer's is such a cruel disease and at least we know that my uncle isn't suffering anymore.

Today I dug out a DVD which I got for Christmas 2009 and which got put in the cupboard without being watched. I love old films so I don't know why it's taken me so long to dig it back out.

There are four James Stewart films in this collection, Harvey, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Rear Window and It's A Wonderful Life. The only one I've seen before is It's A Wonderful Life, which is one of my favourite Christmas films, so I'm looking forward to sitting down with my knitting and watching the other three.

  5. Thats what I love about my job...I organise activities in a Nursing home and we have film club...we've watched the King and I, African Queen, old Norman Wisdom films!!! I love it!!! They did watch Mamma Mia a week or so ago and loved that too!! My favourite film is Wuthering Heights with Merle Oberon and Laurence Olivier..and my mother in law bought it me for Christmas...but I always cry at the end however many times I watch it...so I am steeling myself up for another watch very soon

  8. Thanks for the comments, everyone.

Nellilou - Your job sounds fab, you must love to go to work, I know I would.

Denise - We had so many films on video, but we're without a video player now too. I keep saying that I'll have to get all the footage of the kids which we've got on video put on to dvd, it's just getting round to doing it.
