Taking A Back Seat

My knitting seems to have taken a back seat lately. After a twenty year break from knitting, you can imagine I'm anxious to knit at every opportunity, however, Christmas seems to be getting in the way.

These socks were started on 11th November and this is all I've done. This is the first sock, not the second. It just seems that every time I've got a spare minute something else takes precedence. I've still got a few presents left to buy and a few Christmas cards still to write, but I've promised myself some time over Christmas to indulge in a bit of what I fancy.

Does anyone else find they lose nearly all their time when Christmas is on it's way?

  2. I have completely lost my patience with knitting - I used to do loads too. I wrote all my Christmas cards in November - i had made loads of them too. When I decided it was time to start posting/delivering them - I couldnt find them!!! Ive had to do them all again! However I am consoling myself with the fact that when I do find them, I wont have to write next years! xxxx

  3. Yes, I have the same problem. Between work and school, I am already busy, then the Holidays come around and I find even more things I want to do.
I love it though. Every bit.
    Cheers,

  4. You'll be pleased to know that I've got on with my sock the last two nights and the heel shaping is now done. I don't hold out much hope of getting them finished before Christmas though, I still haven't started wrapping presents yet.
