You would be forgiven for thinking that the sight of these pins meant that I'd been doing some sewing. If truth be told, I'm not very good at sewing, though I wish I were. It's definitely something I'd like to learn to do better. Determined that Eleanor won't be as useless as me, we bought her a sewing machine for Christmas a couple of years ago. She was thrilled with it and messes about on it making some lovely things. I've asked if I can borrow it so that I can try and improve my own skills, if only a little bit.
No, the reason that the pins were out was to pick the seeds out of my pomegranate. It's years since I've eaten a pomegranate. I remember my grandma would often buy me one and I'd sit for hours picking every last seed out of it with a pin. It was just as delicious as I remember from all those years ago.
I've never had pomegranate. I love the flavour in drinks but never actually had it to eat. Maybe now is the time?
ReplyDeleteOn another note I have fixed my blog, I hope, so you should be able to comment :-)

For a moment I thought that perhaps you'd taken up acupuncture!
ReplyDeleteI've not eaten pomegranate in many years and don't recollect what it was like. Flighty xx
I too remember eating pomegranates but I haven't for years, I'll have to go and get one now! good luck with the sewing, I only bought my first sewing machine in June and have been making small things for presents, its great fun!
ReplyDeletearrgghh. too too spooky for words. i had one today and took photo for my blog. Really wish i had known about this post before hand though as pins are a fantastic tip.
ReplyDeleteIt seems I'm not the only one who hasn't had pomegranate for a long time. I'll buy them more often now I've got a taste for them again.
ReplyDeleteOf course, it's pomegranate time! I always associate them with Christmas - they're such a Christmas-decoration type of fruit.
ReplyDeleteI always associate satsumas with Christmas too, Linda.
