Anyone who has felt like 'the girl in the corner' will identify with the way Rae Valentine feels at times so I think the book will touch many people, even if they haven't had the same experiences as her. I must admit that there are certain characters who I didn't like but that didn't stop me from enjoying the story. I had to reach for the tissues towards the end and if you read this book you'll understand why, though I didn't expect the ending at all, there was a bit of a twist.
I think the story was a little slow in parts but I thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it.

ReplyDeleteAlthough I enjoy Amanda Prowse books, I find some better than others. This wasn't her best but certainly not her worst. Thank you, she's still in Tenerife at the moment but the job search will start the minute she gets back.

Amanda Prowse writes about some great subjects, some of which are quite hard hitting. I've read most of her books now.

ReplyDeleteIf you're going to go for one of her later books, they're all stand alone stories apart from Anna, Theo and How to Fall in Love Again, which I'd read in that order. They're still stand alone books but better read as a trio. The early books start with Poppy Day, and though they're all still stand alone stories, certain characters do crop up in later books. I don't think Poppy Day is one of her best but it lays the foundations for the books which follow.
