It's Daniel's birthday today, he's twenty. Just how did that happen? How did my baby boy turn in to a strapping twenty year old in the blink of an eye? I don't feel old enough to have a twenty year old son.
We won't be seeing him today but he's coming home for the weekend with his girlfriend tomorrow so we're going out for a meal tomorrow night, I'm sure he'll have some plans of his own for Saturday and then I shall cook a roast dinner for them before we take them back to university on Sunday.
Happy birthday, Daniel.
Oh, happy birthday Daniel! All the best people are born today (including both my Mum and my daughter!) Hope you all have a good time celebrating together and apart.... and you DON'T look old enough to have a 20 year old son!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Happy birthday to both your mum and your daughter too. Like your daughter, I was born on my nana's birthday. Hmmm, I don't feel old enough to have a 20 year old son but my mirror confirms I am.
DeleteOh birthday greetings to your Daniel Jo! I hope that he enjoys his special day and that he has a brilliant year ahead of him. Enjoy your celebratory meal tomorrow. Sounds as if he is going to be a well fed lad this weekend :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. He was usually off school on his birthday as half term is usually this week. Now he's at uni he still has lectures this week but no where near as many as usual and he's ended up with a free day today so I'm sure he'll be doing something to celebrate. I always make sure he's well fed when he comes home, you know what students are like for meals.
DeleteDon't they grow up fast. It was Alex's birthday on Tuesday and he turned 24 and it will be Francesca's 21st on Monday. Like you say how did my babies get so big. Hope you have a lovely meal/weekend.
ReplyDeleteThey grow up too fast if you ask me. Already out of his teens, that's scary. Thank you, I'm sure it will be a lovely weekend.
DeleteMy goodness! I imagine you are wondering where 20 years flew by so fast! He is obviously from all that you say about him, a lovely young man! Happy Birthday Daniel! xx
ReplyDeleteThe years seem to fly by so fast, I really don't know where time goes. Thank you, I think he's a lovley young man, but then I'm biased.
DeleteHappy Birthday x
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm sure he'll be having a lovely day.
DeleteMany happy returns of the day to Daniel. My Daniel's birthday is late October, so he too always had his birthday in half term, then he always saved a holiday for it, not quite so easy now, quite scary to see the years flick by. Enjoy your meal and weekend, lovely being all together xcx
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's nice when their birthdays fall on a holiday, Eleanor's usually at school for her birthday. I love all the family being together so I'm sure it will be a lovely weekend.
DeleteHe looks a lovely young chap too Jo. Congratulations on his 20th. Time certainly does fly, Rob is 21 this year!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I can't believe how fast times goes, it only seems five minutes ago that I was bringing him home from the hospital.
DeleteHappy birthday Daniel. I hope that you all have a good weekend. Flighty xx
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm really looking forward to our weekend together.
DeleteHappy birthday to your son, they do grow. We have them planted in our minds at an ideal age, but they just won't stick there. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I love the Abba song, Slipping Through My Fingers, I think the words are so true.
DeleteHappy Birthday to Daniel. Im sure it will be nice having them both back for the weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I love having all the family together, it's quite rare these days with Daniel off at university so I'm really looking forward to the weekend.
DeleteHappy birthday, Daniel! I hope he has a wonderful day. He sounds like a terrific young man, which is a real credit to you as his mother.
ReplyDeleteThank you for those lovely words. I haven't heard from him yet today, I'm sure he'll be off having fun.
DeleteMy Mum says the same things when it's my (or my older brothers) Birthday. She can't believe she has children in their 40's!!! Sure he'll enjoy getting spoilt when he gets home. Hope he has a lovely Birthday.
ReplyDeleteI'm the baby of the family and I'm 46 so I don't know what my mum and dad think of that. We'll definitely be spoiling Daniel when he gets home, but that's no different to normal. Thank you, I'm sure he's having a lovely day.
DeleteHappy Birthday Daniel. I'm sure you can't wait till tomorrow when you can celebrate with him xx
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow when he comes home. He's got lectures until five though so he won't be here until late.
DeleteA great photo! Happy birthday to Daniel. I'm sure he's having a good day! Have a lovely weekend :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. I have that same photo on my wall, it's a really good one of him on holiday last year. I'm sure we'll all have a lovely weekend.
DeleteHappy Birthday wishes to Daniel! Hope you all have a great weekend together.
ReplyDeleteLisa x
Thank you. I'm looking forward to the weekend ahead, I'm sure we'll all have a lovely time.
DeleteThey grow so quickly, my youngest is 32, happy birthday to your son.
ReplyDeleteThank you. They do grow up so quickly.
DeleteThey grow so quickly and the years fly by - but so many happy memories which can never be taken away.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Wishes
All the best Jan.
That's true, so many very happy memories. Thank you.
DeleteHappy birthday to Daniel. Time does fly when your children are growing up!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm hoping that time will slow down a bit, it's going far too quickly for my liking.
DeleteHappy Birthday Daniel. I'm sure the family are all so proud of him. Yes, time does fly as my granddaughter is now 18, and you feel not old enough to have a son of 20, can you imagine how I feel with a grandchild nearly that age (lol). Take care.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes, we're all very proud of him. It's amazing how time flies, I can't imagine having grandchildren at all, never mind an eighteen year old grandaughter.
DeleteHappy Birthday Daniel! My son is 14 and I find that hard to believe! x
ReplyDeleteThank you. They do seem to grow up in the blink of an eye, it's quite scary really.
DeleteI hope that you have a wonderful weekend - it's very true that the last 20 years seem to have flown by. Jx
ReplyDeleteThank you. We're all looking forward to it.
DeleteHappy birthday to Daniel! Have a super weekend celebrating!
ReplyDeleteThank you. We had a lovely time last night.
DeleteHappy Birthday Daniel.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy your weekend, its always good to finish off with a nice roast dinner. Have a great week. x
Thank you. The chicken's in and everything else is prepared so we're good to go.
DeleteThey grow up so quickly, don't they? I know it's a cliche, but it really is gone in the blink of an eye. I couldn't quite believe it when my son turned 15 earlier this month - I want time to slow down a bit!!
ReplyDeleteThey do grow up so quickly, it would be nice to keep them as children a while longer as time really does go in the blink of an eye.
