The Belle Of The Ball

Eleanor had a wonderful time at her prom last night. I thought you might like to see some of the many photos I took.

We called at my mum and dad's so that they could see her on her way to her friend's house. These photos were taken there.

The back of the dress is laced up.

All the girls were already there when we arrived at her friend's house, we were still waiting on a couple of the boys though.

It had been raining heavily in the morning but luckily, it had brightened up by the afternoon. It was very windy though and the girls kept having to adjust their hair.

They all scrub up well, they don't look like this when they're coming out of the school gates.

Sharing a joke.

BFF's. (Best Friends Forever).

The obligatory limo line up photo.

They all managed to fit inside the limo, three of the boys were seated at the back.

I knew Eleanor would be the first one with a glass in her hand. Like mother like daughter.

The prom was held at the Centenary Pavilion at Leeds United Football Club. Here they are arriving.

Eleanor and her date.

After the prom, they all went back to Eleanor's friends house where they partied the night away in to the small hours, after which, they crashed where they dropped. Eleanor had a fabulous night and memories were made which I'm sure she'll remember for a very long time. Just the GCSEs to get over and done with now.

    1. I'm sure she'll have lots of lovely memories from last night. She's home revising now but she keeps breaking off to tell me something else she'd just remembered about the night.

    1. I was in school for something on Thursday and I saw the Year 7's, I couldn't believe how little and young they looked, hard to believe how much they grow up in secondary school. They all had a fantastic time, something they'll remember for a very long time.

    1. You really couldn't miss Eleanor in that dress, it was so bright. It's a shame that they've had to settle down straight after the prom to some revision though, the exams start tomorrow so they're having to work this weekend.

    1. I always have a little tear in my eye at any event as I was seriously ill when Daniel and Eleanor were very young and I didn't think I'd even see Eleanor start school, so these events are very poignant, I know how lucky I am to get to see them reach all their milestones. Daniel didn't go to his prom either, he said it just wasn't his thing, though like Rob, he's attends balls at uni.

    1. I was bursting with pride, they all deserve a chance to let their hair down after the work they've put in for their GCSEs, though I'd have preferred it if the school had arranged it for after the exams. They all had a wonderful time and that's the main thing.

    1. I was nervous when they set off, I thought there may be a few mishaps, espcially as they were having tomato soup as a starter for their meal. I don't think it would mix very well with the dress, but everything ran smoothly, thank goodness. A night to remember.

I don't envy you having two lots of exams in your house, we've had GCSE's, AS levels and then A levels for the last three years with Daniel and now we're starting over with Eleanor. Hope everything goes well for yours too.

    1. Eleanor loved her dress, I don't know what we're going to do with it, or more to the point, where we're going to put it, now that the prom's over. Proms are so exciting for them, I'm sure Mikayla will get even more excited as her prom approches. Hope she has a fab time.
