I've got some very happy news to share, I'm going to be a granny again.
Eleanor and Jacob are having another baby and Jack is going to be a big brother. Of course, as soon as I heard the news I pressed my knitting needles into action. They're not finding out what they're having, they want it to be a surprise just as it was with Jack, which means I either knit neutral colours or I knit double, one for a boy and one for a girl. I'm sure the one which isn't used will come in somewhere down the line. I just loved the Toadstools Romper by Julie Taylor which I made for Jack, this time I've changed the embroidery on the pink one from toadstools to daisies. Julie Taylor also has a Daisy Cardigan pattern so I've taken this flower design from there.
I envisage a very busy Christmas this year as the new baby is due Christmas week, how exciting is that. We can't wait to welcome another little one into the family.
Wow - congratulations to all concerned and yes that week could be quite a busy one!
ReplyDeleteLovely knits, I really like your choice of colours x
Thank you. I knit so many neutral colours for Jack, I was determined that this baby should be dressed in some colour, haha.
DeleteLovely news.
ReplyDeleteMy 5 are now all at school, they grow up so fast and I've been passing on some toys to charity shops
Jack was two in June but he's already past that baby stage, he's a little boy now. It will be nice to have another baby in the family.
DeleteMany congratulations. It's lovely news and a baby at Christmas time is so appropriate.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I agree, it's a lovely time to welcome a baby into the family, though I envisage a very busy Christmas.
DeleteCongratulations, Jack is a perfect age to be a big brother, it's so rewarding to watch families grow. Best Christmas ever for you all.
ReplyDeleteEleanor and Jacob have been trying to explain that a new baby will be arriving, how much of it he understands I'm not sure. It might be a big shock come December, haha. Yes, I'm sure this is going to be a wonderful Christmas.
DeleteCongratulations, how exciting!
ReplyDeleteThank you. We're all looking forward to meeting him or her.
DeleteWhat lovely news! It's so nice to have a little baby around at Christmas - my youngest grandchild was born on December 10th & he's 3 this year. He got a little sack from Santa as well when he arrived.
ReplyDeleteWe're all wondering if this baby will appear on Christmas Day. I think Christmas is going to be busy this year one way or another.
DeleteCongratulations and love those little romper suits.
ReplyDeleteThank you. They're such simple little rompers to knit, the embroidery not so simple for me. I'm okay with knitting needles but not the other kind.
DeleteFantastic! Congratulations to you all. Jack won't know what's hit him to start with but I'm sure he'll be a very proud big brother and have lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes, we're all wondering what Jack will make of the baby. He's been around other babies in the family and Eleanor's friends have had babies but to have one permanently in his home, I'm sure it will take some adjustment, haha.
DeleteCongratulations! And yowza you kept that secret for a long time!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes, Eleanor doesn't have the best pregnancies and this one has been no different but she seems to be over the worst of it now, just the birth to go, haha.
DeleteCongratulations Jo, I am so happy for you all. Christmas week? Very exciting! Those rompers are adorable and I love how you have changed the pink one to daisies. You are VERY talented! I love them both.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm looking forward to Christmas, it's going to be very exciting this year. I couldn't resist knitting the rompers again, I loved seeing Jack in the one I knit for him.
DeleteLovely news Jo . . . congratulations to all.
ReplyDeleteI do like those romper suits.
What an exciting and very special Christmas you will be having.
All the best Jan
Thank you. We're all counting down to Christmas, we're looking forward to meeting the new member of the family, and it will be a lovely surprise fining out if it's a girl or a boy.
DeleteThat's fantastic news! Huge congratulations. Xx
ReplyDeleteThank you. We're all very excited at the news.
DeleteHow wonderful! And a very exciting Christmas ahead!
ReplyDeleteIt will make this Christmas even more special having a new little one arrive into the family.
DeleteHow lucky you are to be a granny ! Congrats !
ReplyDeleteThank you again for sharing your photos from Italy (in your previous posts...) , they are so nice ! I hope you enjoyed every moment.
And beautiful LHN stitches...
Have a very nice day !
Thank you. I've enjoyed every second of being a granny to Jack so I can't wait to be a granny to a new little grandbaby. Yes, Italy was wonderful, it's definitely somewhere we'd like to go back to at some point in the future.
DeleteCongratulations on being a Granny#2, it will be such fun. We have a 10 year age gap between ours. Iris will be 11 in March and Baby Christopher who they are hoping to adopt will be 1 next month. But its been much harder work with him as we're 10 years older and more creaky! Xx
ReplyDeleteThank you. How lovely having a second grandchild after ten years, I'm sure Christopher will keep you young. I do feel my age though, it's definitely harder to keep up with them when you're a granny rather than a mummy, haha.
DeleteCongratulations to all. the little romper suits are so sweet!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
Ellie
Thank you. I really enjoy knitting these rompers, they're a simple knit, it's the embroidery which is more challenging for me.
DeleteCongratulations.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's an exciting time.
DeleteHI Jo. Congrats again!! This is such happy and exciting news for your family! Jack is going to be the best big brother! And those rompers are adorable, by the way!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I don't think Jack understands what's happening at the moment but he loves babies so we're hoping he's going to be happy to have a little brother or sister.
DeleteCongratulations, that's great news. I hope Eleanor is doing well x
ReplyDeleteThank you. Eleanor's had quite a difficult pregnancy again and worries too so it hasn't been plain sailing so far but we're hoping she's beginning to turn a corner now.
DeleteHow exciting! Congratulations! I am so happy for you all. Praying for a happy, healthy delivery for mama and baby. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThank you. We're all hoping for the little one to arrive safely and for Eleanor's labour to be easier than it was last time.
DeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteThank you. We're starting to count down the days now.
DeleteJust popped in to say hi Jo and congratulations how exciting! I hope Eleanor's pregnancy goes smoothly from now on. I've been enjoying the last few months with my lovely little granddaughter Sophie she'll be 2 in January, she's a joy so sweet, but they are emigrating to Australia in a couple of weeks and I'm heartbroken 😒I know they'll have a great life out there but I'll miss them. Take care and enjoy every minute with Jack and your new grandchild when he/she arrives. xx
ReplyDeleteLovely to hear from you. Thank you, we're all over the moon to know we've got another baby arriving soon. I can understand how you're feeling about your family and granddaughter emigrating, I think there's more for the younger generation out there, the world has shrunk. I'm sure there'll be lots of online chats, not the same I know, but it's something.
