It's daffodil time again. I'm always eager after Christmas to buy my first bunch but it didn't happen until the end of January this year.
Just a few hours after buying them, the first bud unfurled, it doesn't take long.
Twenty four hours later and they were just about all open.
They don't last long but they're such a cheap and cheery flower to brighten up the house in the depths of winter.
Lovely. They're a sure sign that spring isn't far away. xx
ReplyDeleteBlossoms of sunshine.
ReplyDeleteI do like daffodils, a reminder Spring will soon be here.
ReplyDeleteI always used to pick up a bunch of daffies when I went my grocery shopping but that's a thing of the past these days. I never remember to see if my online delivery has them. I must try harder as they really do brighten your day just looking at them.
ReplyDeleteI love the perfume too.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to see the first color of Spring even if they aren't in the garden. I shall check today when I go to the supermarket to see what they have on offer. Daffodils would certainly brighten our dreary days.💖
ReplyDeleteI love daffs, they are so cheerful, I bought my second bunch this week and they certainly brighten up a room
ReplyDeleteI got some too but I think they must have been out of water for too long because some of them didn't even open. I'm going to get some more tomorrow when I do my shopping they really cheer you up don't they.
ReplyDeleteI love them - they really bring a great splash of colour to any room!
ReplyDeleteHello Jo,
ReplyDeletethere are just a few things we miss doing when we are not in the UK and this is definitely one of them. As you say, this burst of yellow is so uplifting and it really fills one with joy.
Cheap and cheerful, what better way to bring light into the darkness of the days.
One of my favourites. I haven't seen any yet so it is nice to admire yours.
ReplyDeleteI love daffs - in fact all Spring flowers. They really are cheering.
ReplyDeleteA vase of cheery daffodils on my kitchen window sill are something I look forward to every winter. My 20 year old son bought me some today so I am a very happy lady. x
ReplyDeleteoh I o love Daffs. You know spring is coming when you start to see them about.
ReplyDeleteI've bought daffodils the last couple of weeks when I've been shopping and they really bring a bit of cheer to my kitchen in these gloomy times.
ReplyDeleteLovely, little rays of sunshine,xxx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous & I love daffs too. Someone asked me just last week, when the times was to plant spring bulbs & I thought we must try & get to one of the specialist bulb nurseries in The Dandenongs. No garden shows on the horizon for this year, again, so hopefully we'll still be able to get out for a while, unless another wave happens earlier than they expect. Take care, stay safe & hugs.
ReplyDeleteI love daffodils, they really brighten things up with their happy colour :-)
ReplyDeleteThey are one of my favorite flowers. I want to plant some but I'm always too busy in autumn with harvest to do it. Your photos definitely brightened my evening.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Lovely and cheery in the gloomy winter days. X
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Jo, just what we all need at the moment.
ReplyDeleteSpring is on its way, that's what daffodils mean to me. Love the way they unfurl each day. Colchester council put on an Incredible display each year of daffodils, I will miss it this year as I cant travel to see my daughter.
ReplyDeleteDaffodils have been my favorite flower for a long. They are such a happy flower and a bright harbinger of Spring!
ReplyDeleteI love daffodils and their cheerful colors always brighten the room.
