There's something spooky happening at Lotherton Hall.
The Scarecrow Trail is back with clues around the house and estate leading to the super spooky scarecrows.
We didn't follow any clues and we didn't go in the house but we still managed to see lots of scary scarecrows.
I think this diver near the pond must have been here for some time.
A howling black dog was stalking the pet cemetery.
There must have been some apples left in the orchard after the recent Apple Day as this scarecrow has filled his trug.
There were skeletons in the woods.
There were giant spiders on the house.
The gardeners had turned into scarecrows.
One gardener was headless.
There were ghouls in the trees.
Even some of the visitors had turned into scarecrows.
A sign on the stable.
That doesn't look like a horse to me.
Skeletons trying to get into the house.
I'm not sure what these three were up to but there was a lot of spooky sounds coming from the temple.
Lotherton's Spooky Scarecrow Trail runs until the 5th of November.
Happy Halloween.
Oh wow, those look fantastic! Oliver would love seeing these, he is obsessed with all things Halloween related, lol. Halloween is becoming such a big thing in the UK, it seems to overshadow Bonfire Night now, I suppose it's a bit more exciting that a stuffed Guy Fawkes on top of a bonfire lol.
ReplyDeleteChildren seem to love Halloween, I know my two did, though I think it's becoming even more popular now than it ever was. People seem to make much more of it. I don't ever remember trick or treating as a child.
DeleteBrilliant
ReplyDeleteThey are, aren't they?
DeleteHappy Halloween, such a great place to visit. Sadly I don't see much sign of Halloween here as yet but time will tell.
ReplyDeleteLots of the gardens and houses near me are decorated wonderfully, Halloween seems to be a bigger event each year.
DeleteSoooooo spooooky! Not much of a Halloween décor happening at our house this year, just the bare minimum. And then it's on to Christmas! Happy Halloween, Jo :)
ReplyDeleteWe don't decorate for Halloween at all now there's just the two of us, I do like to see all the children enjoying themselves though.
DeleteSuch fun .... the skeletons climbing the walls look so amazing.
ReplyDeleteI think they were my favourite bit, oh, and the ghouls in the trees, they looked good.
DeleteAll very spooky! Thanks, and you too. xx
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see places making such an effort.
DeleteLove those slightly wonky pumpkins in the top photo!
ReplyDeleteMe too, I think they've got them just right.
DeleteI like the traditional Halloween English style not the American Trick or Treat. What a wonderful display.
ReplyDeleteThey've done a good job at Lotherton, it looked to be a very popular event.
DeleteThat looks brilliant, definitely something my sister and I would take my nieces to.
ReplyDeleteI miss having young children to take to these type of events. There were lots of kids enjoying it all.
DeleteSome of those are really quite creepy. Very good though. X
ReplyDeleteThey are. Some seem to be more child friendly than others.
DeleteI think it's great that places put on events such as these for children (and some adults!) to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteSome of those masks are pretty scary.
Lisa x
I do too. Lotherton put on some wonderful events, and most of them are covered in the annual membership, which I think is very reasonable.
DeleteNow, this looks fun. If I were nearer I would certainly visit, the grandchildren would love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the Skeletons trying to get into the house.
Happy Halloween
All the best Jan
I think there were probably lots more which we didn't get to see, we found these just on our usual walk around the woods with Archie. I liked the skeletons too, and the ghouls in the trees.
DeleteGoodness me! I wouldn't like to meet any of those in the daylight never mind in the dark!!
ReplyDeleteSome of them are quite scarey, especially the ones accompanied by wailing noises.
DeleteBrilliant! What a grand display!xxx
ReplyDeleteIt was a lot of fun. They've put on a great display.
DeleteIt looks like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThere's some great events at Lotherton, this one seemed to be especially popular with the children we saw.
