Some of the podcasters I watch design their own project bags and they even have Etsy shops where they sell some of the bags they make. There's many different styles but one which appealed to me was made by Sam from Betsy Makes. Last week, she had a shop update and when I saw the I ♥ My Pup project bag, I just had to treat myself.
The bag arrived sooner than expected and it's very well made, I'm thrilled with it. I just love the cute fabric.
It's really roomy, I thought it would be ideal to hold a sock project but a larger project will easily fit. Perhaps I'll just have to use this for the shawl I've got on the go and treat myself to a smaller bag for my socks.
I really enjoy Sam's podcasts, she knits, crochets and sews so she's always got lots of lovely things to show.
All I've got to do now is extricate a project from the shopping bag of doom and then it will be treated to it's own lovely project bag, I just hope the stitches don't slip off the needle in the process.
By the way, I bought the bag myself and haven't been paid or asked to write a review, I just thought you might like to see this lovely bag and hear what I think of it.
Lovely Jo and I keep most things separate, though my bags aren't quite like that one, I do have one DD made me which I love. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll have to get Eleanor to run me a couple up, though I should probably have a go myself, I keep saying that I'll have a go at sewing.
DeleteWhat a super cute project bag, great way to safely keep your work in good order, nothing more frustrating than losing your stitches and everything being a muddle. Maybe an addition to your christmas list for some more xcx
ReplyDeleteI've already popped them on my Christmas list, I was going to wait until then but couldn't resist this puppy fabric.
DeleteI will take a look its sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteI've only discovered podcasts recently but I'm enjoying watching them. It's quite inspiring to see what other people are working on.
DeleteThe bag looks perfect for a knitting project, Jo. :o)
ReplyDeleteIt should definitely prevent me tussling with my knitting projects when I'm trying to pull them out of my bag.
DeleteWhen I read the title I thought you had a new puppy! Lol . I try to do one project at a time otherwise I get myself confused (easily done!) I've got a big red bag so I know which one is mine when I'm at a group and put it down somewhere x
ReplyDeleteHa ha. No, we're still a one dog household. I always used to work on one project at a time but I'm finding it quite liberating working on more than one at once, it gives me a choice and I can choose which project I feel in the mood for.
DeleteI watch the podcasts, they are among the best. You could have a look at Cherry Heart as well. The bags are lovely an even though I make my own I am tempted to buy one.
ReplyDeleteI do also watch Sandra at Cherry Heart, I joined in with her Spice of Life CAL but I still haven't finished it yet. I think it's a treat to buy things that other people make even if you can make them yourself.
Deletehow adorable! 😊 a good tip to stop your stitches dropping off is invest in some foam earplugs, as I discovered the same thing happened when I was knitting socks so I just popped the earplugs on the ends 😊
ReplyDeleteWhat a great tip, that's one to definitely remember.
DeleteOh that's perfect Jo!
ReplyDeleteI've noticed too how some of these Podcasters have so many lovely bags, I do wonder though where they keep all the bags, once they have their projects in them?
Many of them are lucky enough to have craft rooms. I think the great thing about project bags is that each project is all sorted out and kept together which makes it really easy to just pick up whichever you choose to work on knowing everything you need is to hand. That's especially useful if you're heading out the door and you want a project for on the go.
DeleteThat's lovely! I've not purchased anything off Etsy although I've heard rave reviews about the items sold there so I'm sure that will change sooner rather than later.
ReplyDeleteThere's some really lovely things for sale on Etsy. It's a good place for people to sell their crafty makes and it always amazes me how talented people are.
DeleteLovely item, lucky you. I love to see other peoples makes.
ReplyDeleteI do too, I think blogs are great for that but podcasts go that one stage further in that you get to see those crafty makes a little better.
DeleteIt's practical and looks good, what more could you ask for. Flighty xx
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the fabric, I knew it had to be mine as soon as I saw it.
DeleteIt's a lovely bag Jo I'm sure you will put it to good use. Good luck with the detangling x
ReplyDeleteHa ha, this bag will hopefully avoid me having to detangle anything in future.
DeleteWhat a lovely bag and so neat.
ReplyDeletexx
It is, I'm really pleased with it. I'd like a few more now that I have plenty of projects on the go at once, it would keep everything nice and organised.
DeleteThe bag looks like a great idea. I use wine bottle corks on the ends of my needles so the stitches cant fall off.
ReplyDeleteI never thought of pushing corks on to the ends of the needles, that's a great tip.
Deletewhat a gorgeous bag! And I've discovered another new fab blog too - fabulous thank you. I love project bags and have 5 on the go.... makes it so easy to grab and run out the door with them too~
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely blog and podcast, I hope you enjoy it. Project bags do make things very portable, I'm definitely going to invest in more.
DeleteThat is an absolutely lovely bag!!! Have a great weekend Jo xx
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased I bought it, I really like it.
DeleteCan you believe it's Friday again!
ReplyDeleteWhere do the weeks go?
That bag looks perfect - I love the design.
Enjoy your evening and all good wishes for the weekend too
All the best Jan
It's a lovely design, I just couldn't resist it when I saw it.
DeleteIt looks amazing, loved the fabric.
ReplyDeleteThe fabric's so cute. I can never resist anything doggy related.
DeleteA lovely project bag... I can see why you chose it :)
ReplyDeleteI think Sam makes some really lovely bags but I just couldn't resist this one with the lovely doggy design.
DeleteWhat a great idea, I use little drawstring bags for my projects but I never seem to have enough..........
ReplyDeleteHa ha, you've obviously got too many projects on the go then. I think these project bags are a great idea, I'm enjoying keeping each project I'm working on separate from the rest, it makes it much easier to keep the things I need for each project together.
DeleteJo thank you for such a lovely review! I feel so touched! I'm hoping to make some DPN holders - both incorporated in the bags and separate, so will update shop soon.
ReplyDeleteOnce again thank you - your post really means such a lot to me.
take care
Sam xxx
You're welcome, Sam. I'm thrilled with the bag, it's just what I needed to keep one of my knitting projects all together, I just need a few more bags now for the rest of my projects so I'll be keeping an eye on your shop for updates. I especially like the look of the bags with the incorporated DPN holders so perhaps I'll treat myself to one of those.
DeleteThat is just gorgeous, looks just like a watercolour painting!xxx
ReplyDeleteIt does. It's so cute that I just couldn't resist.
DeleteYou're quite right, the material is irresistible!
ReplyDeleteI can never resist anything doggy related, so cute.
DeleteI can see why you were tempted! Hoe cute is that doggy and the pawprint inside the heart too! Hope it's now full of something which did stay on the needles!
ReplyDeleteLisa x
It's been put in to use and is housing one of my knitting projects, I'm loving using it.
