Photo Medley - October

Not many photos to share with you this month, my camera doesn't seem to have been in use as much as usual, perhaps because I don't seem to have been up to much.

Another photo of the crochet along I'm taking part in. I've got more to share with you about this project but it will wait for a future post.

We visited RHS Harlow Carr earlier this month, they're gearing up for the Halloween celebrations and are selling all manner of pot decorations in their plant centre. They're quite reasonably priced and mean you don't have the hassle of having to carve a pumpkin. I didn't buy one but I was quite tempted.

Apples and pears, a gift from our next door neighbours who have had a bumper crop this year.

I had a trip to Hobbycraft on Sunday where I picked up these little Christmas cross stitch kits and aperture cards to mount them in. A little Christmas project to have a go at.

I must make more of an effort to use my camera more next month.

  1. What sweet cards you've bought.
I think I may have been tempted by the pots, they are wonderful for Halloween year after year.

    1. The Halloween decorations were very tempting. I've stopped carving pumpkins since the kids got older but it would be nice to still have a couple of decorations stood on the doorstep.

  2. Love the wee cross stitches, Jo. I'm sure I have some just like that in a box somewhere. I really should dig them out and do them. Maybe! ;o)

    1. The cross stitches are only tiny, they shouldn't take long to complete. I like that they have ready made cards with envelopes to pop them in.

    1. I think the photos demonstrate that I haven't done much or been far at all this month.

  5. I love those little kits, but I stitch so quickly, I would have loads of them, so I stitch big projects

    1. I know what you mean. I'm a newbie at cross stitch so they're ideal for me.

  6. Nice little roundup of October and like me, I've been really lax with the camera lately and even posting, but was going to do one yesterday, but I was so tired by late afternoon. Maybe today. Your Hobbycraft sounds like our Spotlight stores and they have all manner of crafty bits, plus homeware items, curtains, linen, etc. The little Xmas kits looks cute and the rug is making progress. Take care.

    1. I could spend a fortune in Hobbycraft, they cater for so many different crafts and there's always something which takes my eye when I'm there. The photo of the blanket was taken at the start of the month but I've got a story to tell about it, I must do a post soon.

  7. The skull with the big price tag through his nose made me laugh! We have a terracotta outdoor pumpkin, much less messy than a real one! Enjoy your cross stitch and crochet. xx

    1. There's some great terracotta Halloween decorations, I've never seen them before. I agree, they're definitely less messy than pumpkins.

  8. Looking around various garden and gift centres there is so much spooky Halloween things to choose from.

...but also a lot of good Christmas ideas too. That cross stitch kit looks very good - enjoy doing it, I'm sure you will.

    All the best Jan

    1. I think garden centres sell everything but plants at this time of year, so difficult if you're after something for the garden as they're stocked with everything seasonal. The cross stitch kits are a great little make, I've done one already and started on the second.
