Home Again Home Again Jiggety Jig

We're back from our fortnight away in Cornwall and we've had such a wonderful time. The weather cooperated, we only had one day of rain, and we managed to do lots of things and see lots of places even though we spent lots of time relaxing too.

We stayed in the same accommodation as we have for the last two years in a village just outside Bude. It has lots of facilities such as an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts and a games room with table tennis and pool, and with just ten lodges and two cottages on the site, is lovely and quiet. There's four fishing lakes which Mick, Daniel and Eleanor used every day, they're getting quite good at fishing now.

Eleanor won the competition for catching the biggest fish with her 8lb Common Carp, as well as winning the competition for the most combined weight and Daniel won the competition for catching the most fish with over 60. They're a competitive lot.

We visited lots of villages, more about those in future posts though as I have lots of photographs to share.

Lots of time was spent at the beach, and bodyboards were purchased. I have to admit to keeping my feet firmly on the sand though, no bodyboarding for me.

There were jellyfish all over the beach this year, I was very careful where I stood.

We've eaten very well, picnics, meals out and delicious fresh salads, as well as consuming many naughty things like cream teas, takeaways, fish and chips, ice cream and chocolate. I'm not looking forward to standing on the scales later on today.

Archie seems to have enjoyed his holiday too. He absolutely loves hearing the water swish around him as he runs through rock pools, though it does tend to tire him out.

The holiday was just the thing I needed to recharge my batteries, especially as I've come home to some rather worrying and upsetting news concerning my dad's health.

It's back to normality again though now, the washer's on and there's already washing drying on the line. I hope to catch up with all the blogs I regularly read but if you haven't heard from me soon you should send out a search party as I may be suffocating under the piles of washing and ironing.

    1. Archie was worn out most of the time, lots of running around on the beach and in the sea. There's lots of holiday pictures to come.

  3. Ahhhhhhh I found the photos... I'm glad you had a great time, we went away for 3 days to the coast and my son fished about 90% of the time! Your family is lovely and I'm also glad you got the recharge that you needed!

    1. All the family, except me, love fishing, they're all so competitive though. I enjoy relaxing and doing my own thing whilst they're fishing, it's definitely given me time to recharge my batteries.

    1. I managed to get some washing and ironing done yesterday but no hope of getting anything dry today, it's throwing it down. I hate seeing my parents get older and everything it brings with it, as you say, such a worry.

  6. I've finished my mound of ironing, thank goodness. Hope all goes well with your dad's health. It's very upsetting when a member of the family is ill.

    1. I wish I could say the same. The laundry basket is still overflowing and as quickly as I take things out, it just gets filled back up again. Thank you for your good wishes.

    1. Archie is a cutie, he definitely enjoyed his holiday. There were jellyfish all over the beach as well as in the sea. I don't think they can sting very bad though as I saw children carrying them about. I don't think I'd risk it myself.
