A Busy Week

It's been a really busy week making sure that Eleanor has been at the theatre on time for her performances. We've had an hour round trip to drop her off and then another hour round trip to pick her up afterwards. We haven't been getting home until nearly 11pm, and then Eleanor has had to get a quick shower before going straight to bed. She's shattered now and her voice has finally given in, she's very croaky.

We went to see the production last night and it was fabulous. It's hard to believe that it was performed entirely by kids, it was so professional. We had a brilliant time.

We dropped Eleanor off at 6pm to get ready but the show didn't start until 7.15pm so we decided to have a wander around the German market which is situated at Millennium Square, right outside the theatre. There were some wonderful stalls and lots of things which caught my eye.

Glassware.

Wooden goods.

Honey and beeswax products.

There were lots of food and drink stalls.

Donuts.

Marshmallows.

Whilst we were wandering around the German market, Eleanor was getting ready for the performance. She loves the backstage buzz and has lots of fun with her friends. She took a few photos which she's allowed me to share.

Her next event is a Christmas concert at Leeds City Museum, I'm looking forward to that.

  1. You should be very proud of her Jo! She sounds like she had the time of her life, an unforgettable experience. Hope her voice gets better.

Did you buy any of those goodies at the market. What temptation!

  3. So pleased to hear all went well! What a lovely photo of Eleanor sat with her skirt all around her.
Your market looks lovely, ours here is quite boring. Those beeswax candles look far to pretty to burn.

  4. Thank you for all your lovely comments.

Sft - We've very proud of her, she had a wonderful time. I may have bought something from the German market for a certain little lady's Christmas present.

  5. All the German products look really familiar from Edinburgh's German market. There must be streams of lorries from Germany supplying all the markets at this time of year!
Congrats to Eleanor on her performance. These shows demand so much stamina, when you consider that the kids have to keep school work going too. Don't mention sore throats to us - my daughter did her Grade 8 singing last week, and up to the last minute it was touch and go whether her throat would be better in time to do it!

  6. The German market is just the same as it was last year, Linda. I think the same stallholders must come back year after year. Eleanor does struggle when she's having late nights and early mornings. She's always so shattered after a week's run. Hope your daughter did well in her Grade 8, it's always a worry whether they'll be on top form when the big day arrives. I hope her sore throat disappeared in time.
