People were talking about it in the local facebook page but it needed someone to start it. It's in the afternoons once a week. The pub is practically empty then for a few hrs. Peeps can come for a meal at 1:00 first or from 1:30pm until 4:00pm. The beauty of the pub is there's no charge but they do provide drinks, cake or cookies to purchase.
We have the bookclub there already so it was simple to arrange.
The library in town 11 miles away, run knit n natters but conversation can get sad or loud. Library staff told the group off, oops! Also the yarn shop and church in town run groups too. You coul...I've read this one, a enjoyed it too.
You could always ask at your local library if they think they would be interested in starting a knit and natter group. Ask if a notice could go up on their noticeboard with a day/time and just take along your own knitting, you'd be surprised how many turn up and have been waiting for someone to take the initiative. We have one at our very small community centre library, started by 2 ladies and now there are 18 that come along on Friday mornings. Another one at the bigger library and that has over 25. They are so popular. Even the local Sainsburys has one in their cafeteria on a Monday evening for those that have to work in the daytime. I hope you find one, they are such fun. xxJuliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13863899802782756191noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5605977931488846865.post-70515581257658167662018-06-09T09:59:57.494+01:002018-06-09T09:59:57.494+01:00I don't mind a sad story every once in a while...I don't mind a sad story every once in a while, I do read enough of them.Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17436932004631816039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5605977931488846865.post-79660792226441242452018-06-08T20:47:38.339+01:002018-06-08T20:47:38.339+01:00Pleased to read about this …

As a former librarian, I was reluctant to give up books -- and actually felt guilty -- but the Kindle is so much more convenient. Of course, I have not given up books completely.
